This might be impossible, seen how crap the engine is for bots. But, could it be possible that bots won't run at you with the sniper rifle or rail gun anymore or wont go rushing at you? I want tactical gameplay sometimes and it wont really work with 7 bots running at me. Also my teammates are really stupid, if I say cover me, they hang around me, infront of me, rushing at the enemy and such. They should crawl behind me with a shotgun and keep hostiles at bay, not steal ammo and jump in my sights. Would be a great addon for BW, smart bots, but I doubt it will be easy or even possible. |

Placing deployables on strategic points for bots can get good results, when bots manage to properly shot. Some more knowledge of the weapon role from the bots would be a good improvement. May be even orders in menu to choose how aggresive should bot be (ie, attack on sight, or wait until provoked). Also an order to make bot leave deployable so can resupply ammo there could be useful. Still, suspect making bots a bit more "intelligent" would be a lot of work or may be need rewrite them. With "camp here" (this one works somewhat properly) order and bots being able to use deployables would be enough for me. Also forgot, but would be quite useful if bots wouldnt step in the laser wires of their own team, but avoid them instead. Edit: shortened bot&deployables part, restructured a bit, and added some lines... may be should had been better add new post instead? |

We hope to implement better AI in the future, but it looks like it may be quite a task! Don't worry though, we know the UT bots don't fit into BW gameplay, so its on the list... |
