When BW does get Weapon mods, Here is an idea

A menu which can select different mods. There are 6 categories.

Calibre/round upgrade = this ups the damage and armour resistance. May negatively affect recoil. Design changes include the barrel largening

Stability upgrade = reduces chaos and weight, may negatively affect recoil. Design changes include a lighter, more streamlined gun appearance with added plastic parts

accuracy upgrade = reduces recoil, may negatively affect damage. Design changes include larger stocks or a tweaked firing mechanism

ammo clip upgrade = changes clip size or replaces it completely, may negatively affect chaos or running speed. Design changes include a different clip and mechanism for holding it

feature upgrade = unlocks a weapons alternate fire, special ability or firemode. EG: effective abilities such as the railguns thermal scope could require an upgrade so people cannot go wall spamming right away.

Addons = Adds additional abilities such as attached grenade launchers, shotguns, flashlights and other cool toys that the weapon would not normally have. This allows you to create combination guns but may negatively affect size, wheight, recoil, chaos and damage. It's also the most expensive upgrade.



The menu can be a circle, showing the gun with three smaller circles with the 6 categories with quicklists for each one of them. When you add a mod, the gun changes and the money you earn will be lost unless your put it back to nothing.

doubling the size of the clip seems a tad crazy. (cause the whole mag would need to be doubled).

Besides that, sounds like a good idea.

While I don't really get what holy water would do against a marine or anything like that, an X-Ray scope on the M75 would be pretty neat.

I see you borrowed a couple of the ammo types from Bioshock. Electric Buck, anyone?

But anyways, if holy water was to do extra damage, don't you think it it should do extra damage to the things that actually, you know, seem like unholy abominations? Thats right, I'm thinking the Nightmares should be weak to Holy damage. 8)

I love the idea, and taking some things into consideration, it kinda makes sense (them outworlders are superstitious folks ;) ), but it kind of seems a bit odd too.

What about the holy water is actually some sort of highly caustic acid, but shipped with kind of a tongue and cheek name of holy water? Heh, the acid could even be blessed for added insurance. :P

I request that that Katana has the word "YOKELASSENCE" painted down its blade for its misc upgrade.

After thinking of the things that could be upgraded, we could expand the upgrade catagories to look like this:

Note that I also added what side affects upgrades may have, there should be consequences for whoring one upgrade aspect.

How do we earn "upgrade credits" anyway? Spend your own score points?

Also if you want to add another dimention to this idea, we could have different upgrade levels

EXAMPLE:

standard SRS900 clip = 20

Clip upgrade 1: Expanded clip, + 10 rounds, +1 wheight
Clip upgrade 2: double clip, + 20 rounds, +2 wheight
Clip upgrade 4: Munition drum, + 60 rounds, +4 wheight
Clip upgrade Max: Belt feed, + 100 rounds, +8 wheight

To compensate for the added wheight you need a stability upgrade to balance it out so getting an overpowered gun wont be that easy.
