What do you think of making a talent system.
Allows you to select talents before starting the game just like the BW Lodout, it will add a little RPG feeling.
Like usual make it optional.
You can only have one of them at a time.
You can change them during the game and they will switch when you are dead just like BW Lodout.
Here are the samples:
1.)Sharpshooter - gives more accuracy to all weapons.
2.)Guardian - reduces recoil of all weapons.
3.)Weapon Master - reduces reload time to all weapons.
4.)Athlete - increases maximum health to 125 and slightly increases speed.
5.)Gunslinger - improves accuracy, reduces recoil and reload time of all handguns.
6.)Bodybuilder - increases maximum health to 150.
7.)Assassin - all light and medium weapons which shoot bullets have 10% chance to do 2.5x damage.
8.)Pyro - 50% less damage from flamethrowers and 25% less damage from explosions.
9.)Survival - 1 health every 2 seconds.
10.)Insanity - 1 adrenalin every 2 seconds and removes adrenaline fall down effect. (see this topic "http://www.runestorm.com/pl/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?42941")
11.)Gunner - increases maximum ammo capacity of all weapons and 10% less damage from weapons.
12.)Acrobat - allows to do triple jump.
13.)Headhunter - headshots = instant kill.
14.)Random - randomly selects you any of these talents.
15.)None - for players which want to give others some advantage. (random does not select this one)

Also would be nice if there was a function to select which are allowed and which are not, again just like BW Lodout.

P.S.
I apologise if i made any grammar mistakes.

many ideas like this have been introduced before, and I liked most of them.

This one looks great :D Only the assasin with 10% chance on insta kill might be too overpowered with fast firing weapons, like dual-fifty 9's.

Or the minigun! You'd get an instant kill after a couple seconds of shooting :P

So will it balance things out with 5% ?

Would replace directly with small increase damage, or at most, a % of chances of vital point hit with higher damage or so.
Getting with full hp and armor a shot in feet that normally makes 10 damage an instant kill doesnt sound exaclty nice. Getting the hit evade armor or do 40 damage instead of 10 would be a bit odd but not annoy anyone.

I'd say remove the chance of instant kill and just raise the chances of your damages going more towards the upper end of its damage ranges.

The possibility of the shot passing through armour is a cool idea too.

Perhaps we should increase the advantage and also add some pain to offset. For example, consider the "Species Statistics" mutator. Gorge is 90% tougher, but runs slow and can't jmup as high; Gen Mo'Ki (sp) are weaker, but can run faster and jump higher.

To apply this to the talent addition, here are some example modifications to what I'm thinking:

-Assassin: 10% chance of 4X damage, +40% damage taken from others.

Gunslinger: -50% reload time, +10% accuracy, +10 stability, -30% damage, -20% speed

I like this whole idea, it adds more flexibility in Loadout. Some ideas for Assassain: extra damage with semiautomatic and melee weapons, bullet weapons are permanently silenced with no tracers, or some minor form of cloaking/stealth. I'd also suggest a Heavy Gunner class that is less mobile but can carry half again of their ammo, and an Engineer class that repairs things faster and maybe starts with some armor.

Are you nuts? The disadvantages shade the advantages completely and beyond. The disadvantages don't make any sense either, why does a person that can reload much faster have weaker bullets? And why does the assassin take more damage then others?

Sounds to me like you are just giving away random balancing ideas, which are unnecessary, by the way, since the other characters will also have a talent, making yours not nearly as dominant.

I'll fix the assassin talent to damage multiplayer.
Will add the gunner and acrobat talent.
About the starting armor, i have a better idea, why not the RS team make that you can select it in weapons lodout instead of 1 extra weapon ???

And how about a Headhunter - headshots = instantkills ??? (probably will be unbalanced too !lol )

nah, that would be cool :D

Because, it's the head, hard to hit.

Since the head's hitbox is flawed as hell in UT2004, I doubt it would be a good idea.

Exactly :p

However i wonder what RS Team thinks ? Is there a chance we will see something familiar to this in future ?
