I had a couple small requests I hope wouldn't be too much of a bother.. Right now it seems there are two keys for "special actions" for the guns, like the M50's camera placement, etc. But they both do the same thing... well, right now the special action for the XMV changes the rate of fire on the barrels. What about if the second special key "locked" the barrel rotation so that the barrels kept spinning without winding down after you stopped firing? And it should be possible, because it's happened on accident already: An option to disable muzzle flash on weapons (maybe even on a weapon-by-weapon basis?) I have said something about this before but this time I think it is actually in the right place (alert the media.) On my stone-age 2001 rig, I play in 800x600 mode, and it runs fine, at about 40 FPS or so when not taxed, and about 25-30 when it is (still playable). It drags when too much stuff happens at once though, then I get about 10. But anyway since I play on 800x600, the muzzle flash of the M353 gets in the way of my crosshair and my target, blocking my sight of them, so I have to stop firing, retarget, fire, stop and make sure I'm hitting them, etc. Now it's so happened that somehow the M353 muzzle flash gets "disabled" during the course of a game. I don't know how to make a demo so I took a vid with my digital camera (44 megs Quicktime format, 44 seconds) and can upload that if need be, to show that it probably can be done somehow. Of course, it's a matter of whether anyone think it's worth having or not.
Just putting them out there. Thanks.

A better solution would be to replace the Minigun's altfire with a simple "rev-up" function that spins the barrels with no bullets, and transfer the turret mode the weapon special key. |

That would work, who really uses the minigun to fire one bullet at a time anyway? I think in a case like that it does less damage than a pistol. But then why are there two keys that effectively do the same thing? |
