For the minigun, wouldn't it be usefull if the Special Fire key makes the barrels spin without shooting? That way you can jump in a room, with an already spinning minigun in your hands, and unleashing your rounds quickly into the targets in that room XD A balance would be to make you slower when spinning the thing, and when firing while on the move, you'll get to standstill (Unless strafing) because of you being pushed back to hard to get forward. You get a little boost when walking backwards. but you'll never see whats coming if you run trough the hall in reverse. |

You can almost do this already just by pressing fire button, and releasing it intermittently before it actually fires, which isn't really much more trouble than having to hit a special button to get it to spin. Just my two cents. |

Hmm, I would only say this was a good idea if it only worked when the gun was mounted. |

It takes barely any time at all for the gun to reach it's bone-shattering fire rate, even measured in UT2004-time. |

Ofcourse it doesnt take much time. But its always lots of fun coming down the hall with a spinning minigun. Play Team Fortress 2 and you'll know. |

This is what semi-auto fire is for. Just press fire in that mode and hold it in until you want to fire, then switch fire modes while still holding fire in. To stop firing, just switch back to semi-auto. |

It would only really be useful if the gun only started firing once it reached the desired barrel rotation speed, which is what the Minigun should do, IMO. |

Heh heh, this was discussed prior to the 2.0 beta release. We couldn't really easily decide which to go with.

In real life miniguns don't fire only when they're spinning on full. BW has been very realistic on that. If you dont believe me go check for yourself on Wikipedia or something. If you prove me wrong then congratz XD Anyways, it would be cool to have the barrels spin and I don't see why this feature shouldn't be into it. Do give me a senseful reason why to let it out, so far, I'm not convinced it should be left out. |

Eh, I usually do this when I'm camping on the Minigun turret. Just switch to Auto-Fire, fire off one bullet, and hold the fire button down to keep the barrels spinning, then switch it to a different mode when a target appears, back to Semi Auto when they fall down X3 |

I agree. I mean have you ever played "Time Splitters 2", that mini-gun is so slow. This mini gun, without the spinning barrels, is powerful enough to slaughter bots/people Raziel P.S This is just my opinion, feel free to disagree. Also I like the name of this thread a nice quote from RA2:YR |
