This is a new turret to replace the current laser turrets. It basicly draws on the anti-air and anti-tank capability of the FlaK39, gives it an underbarrel machine gun and the ability to fire a single missile from the barrel. The gun can fire anti-tank rounds that are used against slow vehicles. They do lots of damage but cause no blast since they are just darts of depleted uranium. These have a parabolic arce, but travel quite fast so there is not too much drop (not as much as the HAMR). For anti-air use there are proximity burst shells. These explode when within 50ft of the target with a small blast but many fragments. These cause damage out to about 100ft. This has a minium range 10ft larger than the blast radius. These are loaded in 3 round stripper clips with all three rounds fired in 2 seconds. The missile is just an enlarged G5 missile that fits inside the breech. The lock window is small and hampered by the guns slow travesing. It is used to take out fast vehicles. The underbarrel .50 machine gun has a 25 round box magazine and is intended to act as a last resort weapon. Shells take 5 seconds to load, the missile takes 7 and the machine gun takes 6. Ammo choice is special, firing is primary. Secondary is a 2.5-10x zoom. When switching ammo, normal reload times apply (except for the machine gun). [br] Laser targeter. This is given to all players in ONS games. When pointed at a place on the terrain, any player in a turret within range will hear a noise and can switch to howitzer mode. In this mode, a ring on the screen shows aproximatly where to fire (it is dynamic and changes when zoomed). The shell has a noticable arc and range able to shoot from a torlan base to the other. Takes 7 seconds to load. The shell is about 1.5-2 times more powerful than a goliath shell. |

I like that. The laser turrets need a BW spin, and they suck. So ya... great! Plus, I like how you can switch. But I don't understand how you are going to get all the weapons to combine cleanly.. Maybe if you keep zoom as 2nd, shoot as first, and half special key change the type. That sounds a lot cleaner, cause w/out zoom turrets lose the bonus of precise defensive fire, which is the entire purpose... |

+1. My preference was more for a Phalanx-like gatling gun pod, but this is also a good idea. Add a 3rd shell type with a parabolic arc and it can also serve as an artillery position |

Both good input. My spin on your ideas has been added. |

Now add the part where you can deploy/undeploy it, and move it around on its trailer when hooked up to a vehicle that can pull it along. There is no better defense than a mobile defense. Also, when switching ammo button is pressed, the ability to scroll and select the ammo would be nice, instead of constantly having to tab the button to get to what you want. |

Um, that may be asking a bit much. the UT engine seems to treat turrets differently from vehicles. It might be overkill to see a person dragging a full size howitzer/flak 88 artillery piece around, tho Runestorm could implement it as a super deployable weapon pickup larger than the HAMR. Treating something as a drop off trailer by a vehicle hasn't been done yet. The closest thing is the crew pod apc that ejects from Xyx's LED zepplin after it gets shot down. |

I have done trailers that are attachable to vehicles, they can be attached/unattached whenever you want. However I am not saying a single person can drag it around, only a special vehicle can tow it when it is undeployed. |

Reload times seem too long to me. This also seems vaguely similar to my Flak 24. However, note that I say vaguely. Your cannon is big, immobile, and the machine gun is low-caliber and underslung, while my Flak 24 is a man-portable AA gun, with twin co-axial 50. APHER machine guns, among other differences. Both, however, have gun shields, but that's pretty much where similarities end, including the size of it. |

I did mean this as a stationary gun. I think it would be way overpowered if it could move. |

Well, I meant it can only be used when stationary/deployed, and it has to be towed by a special vehicle when undeployed. So it is mobile, but moving it around isn't that ideal. And pretty much any vehicle is faster than moving it, save the paladin, and levi. This would not make it overpowered, as it can't move on its own, you need to deploy it, moving it takes a bit of time to get it into place, not to mention it is very easy to destroy(can you say raptor/cicada bait) when undeployed, and with what 600 health, 3 avrils, 2 goliath hits, 4 pally hits, or 6 shots from a cicada can do it in. A goliath(2.5 second firing interval) can easily do it in with two shots while this thing is busy reloading. |
