The idea is to replace FP9A5 instant pickup ability (by Use key) with defusion ability like C4 in Counter Strike. The principle: 1. If the bomb is placed by enemy player you must hold the Use key for some time for pickup placed bomb. 2. If the bomb is placed by yourself or by your teammate you can instantly pickup the bomb (as currently is). <- Explosive device defusion in Counter Strike
<- Same situation in Unreal Tournament 2004
And maybe to create the Defusal Kit pickup which can be purcharsed by loadout menu and can decrease the defusion time of enemy team placed FP9A5 bombs.

Well heres the thing,these are remote bombs/tripmines,Counterstrike bombs are time bombs. The big problem would be that this is a fast paced game,not a multiplayer tactical shooter(well it can be,but that's rare online).I wouldn't want to wait any longer picking this thing up in UT. |

You could easily shoot them. The difference is that shooting it is loud and alerts you to your enemies, and defusing is quiet and nets you a new bomb, but is slower and more risky. I myself would like a "defuse time" for both the FP9s and BX5s, as long as some aspect of them were nerfed in some way. Like having a safety delay between an FP9's deployment and detonation, and less sensitive triggers for the BX5. |

why disarm them when you can shoot them? i kinda think thats pointless to disarm them. |

I think for BX-5 mines this feature is unacceptable because if the mine will have a time before detonation then enemy can trigger the mine and run away - the mines with this feature has no sense and effectiveness of using the mines decreases to 0%. But the bombs detonates remotely and if the enemy don't see you in defusion process (or you don't touch the laser) you have a chance to steal his bomb and use it against him later, but this must be not too easy like in current time. And also it is possible to make in BW mutator the option for setting the defusion time (you will can also set it = 0 for disabling the feature). |
