Mauler Airspace/Area Denial Platform: Designed to slow the opposition down enough for the bigger guns to deal with, the Mauler is a a light armoured vehicle capable of taking on infantry, light vehicles and aircraft. The driver gets a chaingun mount on a 120degree foward pivot for self defense. The gunner takes control of a varible-choke flak cannon firing explosive metallic shards in one of 3 configured fire patterns: Mode one is minimal choke, and fires the shards singly at a rapid rate of fire for antipersonnel combat. Mode 2 expands the choke, allowing the gunner to fire shrapnel in a dense cone - useful for taking down fast moving aircraft. Mode 3 completely opens the weapon choke, forcing the shards down to subsonic muzzle velocity. This means the flak is unlikely to detonate on impact with the floor, allowing the gunner to saturate an area with damaging shrapnel to prevent enemy incursion.

Skrith Energy tank, designated 'Photon': The Skrith MBT is a natural progression of their energy technology. It's 2-man/alien configuration makes it more versatile than the Earth Forces Goliath, and it can bring a large amount of firepower to bear very quickly. Mounting a twin-linked energy rifle slaved to the drivers control allows the gunner to focus on more worthy targets with a high powered laser cannon. The cannon can fire either a charged shot, similar in principle to the Goliath's cannon, or as a lower powered beam (although this appears to require a cooldown period after extended use)

Ravager support vehicle: Often used as a command vehicle, the Ravager mounts 3 personnel in uniquely different roles. The driver of this hovering weapons platform can not only jump in a Manta-like manner (although not nearly as quickly), but has a forward fixed autotracking AVRiL mount for close vehicular combat. The main gunner can launch either a tightly knit swarm of high explosive rockets, or use the onboard designator to indirectly fire Hunter-Killer AT missiles (similar to the G5 mortar firemode, with a larger payload). The final crewman controls the point defense weapons, consisting of a rapid fire microlaser for taking down incoming missiles and aircraft, and a 40mm grenade launcher to pin down infantry.

These are nice ideas! I like the flak vehicle the most.
So, in these vehicles the driver gets weapons?

@ Sgt.Kelly: Yeah, I figure the drive should get in on the fun too, these ideas aren't nippy vehicles so some close up defense is probably needed to stop folks lke me planting FP9's on your hull :D
@ ShadowBlade: the idea for the Skrith tank was just a higher calibre version of the skrith weapons already in BW (which can be a bit spammy close up). Besides, they're aliens! All aliens have big lasers that go pew-pew: FACT! :P

The only thing i can say is that the vehicles (like tanks and most fast vehicles) should require alot less teamwork with either other players or bots! (bots hate teamwork in vehicles)!! just as long as every driver can shoot a gun or missle for defense or offense than your ideas sound great!

As I said, the tank is based on the Skrith weapons in the current BW version...if ppl want to prove me wrong in later versions, by all means bring it on! :P

You aren't wrong in case you'd like to know. ;)

But Skrith Energy Tank would be a great idea, a tank floating right above the ground and it has beefed up dual-Skrith Rifles with one small turret that fires tiny projectiles that travel at the speed of light and do decent damage if you get many hits onto an opponent.

I love that idea for the skirth tank Bjossi, but i think we'll have to wait and see what technologies the skirth have cause they might not even have hover technology.

you know what i just remembered that a while back planetunreal.com had a post that said you were working on some project called Copper Jacket or something like that. Is that what your interim project is?
