First, BALLISTIC WEAPONS ROCKS! INMHO, it's the best mutator I've ever downloaded. Hello to all you fellow BW fans!
(But I didn't like 1.6 except for the shotgun smoke and RL behavior)

I would like to see realistic weapons in BW:

WHAT I LIKE:
* M50, shotguns, heavy MGs, sniper rifle, xk, pistol, nades, mine, RL. (I also like the Skrith weapons and the railgun but those aren't realistic).

WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE:
* automatic rifle with sight
* ability to scale or turn off aim drifting
* deployable machine gun (this is taken from another user, I don't remember his name).
* sentry gun
* flame thrower
* plasma gun (like quake 3, not realistic but fun)
* gatling gun
* grenade launcher (this could be especially fun with napalm grenades)
* jet pack
* walking deployable sentries (like DOOM 3)
* Gore mutator (bloody hell) isn't gory enough. Plus it would be good to be able to set options on it.

I realize there are several mutators out their that do these things, but it would be nice to have them done better (I have confidence in RuneStorm) and consolidated into one set of mutators.

That's all I can think of for now. Perhaps more later on this topic.

You have some interesting ideas there. :)
But I thought Ballistic Weapons were realistic enough, reloading, the look and how they work. The mod already has shotguns, heavy machineguns etc. :)

But as you said, what this mod is missing are powerful guns like flamethrower and plasma gun. I think a plasma gun should be made as a super weapon, so it´s ammo is very limited but it does devastating damage.

Deployable guns...me likey! :D

I have also been nagging about a grenade launcher because I´m hopeless at throwing grenades and actually damage something. :/

However, I would stop playing the mod if a jetpack would be added, simple as that. There is nothing more annoying that having to shoot something that flies around at high speeds, it´s very tough even for people with skill and full eyesight.

You guys are right, the jet pack idea is a little ridiculous and obviously totally unrealistic. It did work in Duke Nukem though. I do personally occasionally like to use a jet pack (Aerial View) mutator to spice things up. Interestingly enough I hardly ever use low grav.

OTHER FEATURES I THOUGHT OF:
- reaffirm what others have said about look-down-the sight mode (then you could get rid of the cursor altogether [optionally] like in Brothers in Arms).
- uzi-- I saw a rumor that the uzi will be in at some point, I'm looking forward to that :evil:

VERSION 1.6:
What do you guys think of the new aiming system? My first reaction was that it sucks, but I'm willing to learn it because it IS more realistic IMHO. What about the drunken walk? That's a trip. I turn mine off for now. Glad to see the grenade animation, that's cool. The new rail-gun thermal is ridiculous though. Someone had some interesting suggestions for it somewhere on the forum. Did you guys notice much in the way of new fx besides the new smoke trails from the shotguns? Also, I think the bloody hell mutator should be bloodier. I guess that's what gibalicious is for.

I think the blood amount is fine for Bloody Hell, but I would want bodies and decals to stay longer/forever, that will probably be included in later releases.
