How about the Junk wars competitors during their fights found two old Roman shields in a abandoned garbage dump. The Large Roman Shield would be quite big (almost full body coverage) and you would walk a bit slower by carrying it. It could take any blow (maybe even the large super weapons you know the ones) and survive.

The small Roman Shield would be like the other JW shields but a little bigger and able to block light and medium weapons. It covers the same amount as the riot or trash can shield would.

oh that'd be cool. Big swords and axes, even dagers and small swords. :D
