Maybe Ballistics should have custom weapon pickup bases. Instead of lying around on the ground, maybe a new realistic weapon holder will look cool (i.e. racks that have a katana lined up on its hinges, or a opened glass case with a gun in it.). This would make it alot better when playing in maps like DM-Neadertalus in the Community bonus packs. That's because the Neadertalus Weaponbases are very unique, and since Ballistic Weapons spawn on the ground, it spawns right IN the platform, giving it a jagged look that makes the gun look like its molded in the rock or something. This really irritated me, and I wish that the Ballistic Weapons's future versions will consider this. Peace.

That is a really good idea... Runestorm...I know you're not adding new things for 1.7, but this would give BW a "unique fingerprint" so please consider
I look at this feature as a "nice to have", but it does leave the player with that "wow, this is nice" feeling, which is what BW is all about!

mmm, We actually didn't like UT's stoopid bright blue bases with their little yellow sparks and stoopid gun floating around in the air! Try looking across an excellent, natural looking map, horribley broken up with a bright blue stoopid thing in the middle of the path! It sticks out horribly and ruins the look of a good map!:sick: BUT, a weapon base that is realistic and decant might be ok. We were actually thinking along the lines of putting our weapons in boxes or racks, which is exactly what you are saying! It might help with the technical problems of random spawning pickups too!
That map has it's own bases? I don't know if a map can replace the weapon bases! It probably just has it's own decorative bases actaully part of the map and hiding the UT base. We would still have the problem of a BW box being spawned in the map's base... Anyway, we'll look into this thanks for the suggestion...

I think weapon bases are classes, therefore they´d need to be changed manually for each map. But there might be a scripting way to do this automaticly. |

I also might have a idea for armor: mannequins. You know, life sized figures that you could dress up. This way you could get a kit of stuff. Like for example: Mannequin is wearing a full combat armor suit, wielding a M50, and has FP7 Grenades in hand. That will be real nice, cause this will give a little more feel rather than the standard UT get everything in different places style. This way, people can prepare to fight more easily. Btw, this could replace weapon lockers .
