Post subject:  An idea for a new update for Balistics

This is just an idea on what someone should do with balistics. I've seen a lot of custom content on balistics and i was thinking. People are making lots of great weapons with cool attachments but i was thinking of a more "Call of duty" style mod. I'm not saying that i am making one, or that someone should make one. Anyway, it would be cool if you could customize your own gun! Y'know! like choose the colour or paint job for it, choose attachments and be able to use Melee! like punch and kick, but you can see your hands and feet!
Like a menu on the ballistic setting screen where you can customize things. For example:

Skrith rifle.
Would have detachable blades, and come in green or blue with red bits. Replace blade with stun gun or something. Attachable scope or red dot sight

M50 Assault Rifle.
Detachable camara sight and replace with choice of scope. Change-able grenade launcher to shotgun or a grip for better accuracy.
Camouflage paint job or something like that.

10 mm pistol.
Attachable choice of scope (red dot, 2x scope). Customizable laser sight colour, customizeable clip size and customizable stock. Comes in colours of silver (default), Black, silver and black, black and silver. Pistol whip maybe? maybe not.

RPG
Choice of homing or mortar thingy. Choice of colour. Green (default), black, green and black with yellow bits.

Skrith blades
Choice of colour, choice of blade (bigger blades more damage, more weight). Choice of charge up attack of fireable blades. Choice of normal fireable blades or special grapple hooks.
Normal blades or poison tipped. (2 health for 5 seconds, it might be an attachment)

Something like this would be cool. Like a menu where you can customize a heap of stuff. Oh and maybe chuck in some new toys to play with. Like a double barrel shotgun. A normal looking shotgun. Or a remote turret! that shoots little lasers! That would be pretty cool. Anyway, just putting this out there. Y'know, idea for someone.

Hmm, with special weapon keys you can customize a lot of your guns. (Laser, silencers, firemodes, etc.)

Though something of this scale would probably take forever to do. It would be pretty awesome though.

Would anyone be up to the challenge? Perhaps in the future.... RuneStorm might just might, maybe hopefully because they are awesome and they are the best because they might make this, well they might just maybe do this. because its cool. and release it for UT2004. just cause....

Ballistic Weapons is no longer in development by Runestorm.
And in its current state, Ballistic Weapons would be better off getting patched to hell and back before anything new is added. It makes Windows 95 look like polished, bug-free software.

Care to elaborate? I only know of a few bugs in BW's core systems, only one that comes to mind is Swapping settings not saving.

Oh yeah, and BW Conflict...

I know of none. Although there was a huge bug where the gun would fly all over the screen and stuff up, but that got patched in 2.00
I run on a mac, so that might be why there be no bugs. Well, it does freeze every now and then for a few seconds while in a game.

Anyway, someone should totally do this, i just realized how cool grappling hooks could be! And fireable blade things!
Someone should make a mutator with a grapple gun. Swinging would be so cool! :D :D

No. An operating system does not magically fix scripting errors made by DC (our programmer). There has only been one known OS specific bug to this day, used to give (both?) Mac players a hell of a time.

Anyway, I find it hard to believe you haven't run into bugs such as laser or electric sounds keep playing after the attack stops, or electric beams don't always disappear when they should. I can hardly ever play a match without experiencing one or both at least once. You're either very lucky or very dense (as in, lots of abnormalities get past your attention)...

Oh yeah, electrical effects lingering, I remember those. Did the sound play with the visual artifacts? I forgot.

It has been some time since I last played with weapons that are affected by this bug (Sarge's weapon pack is huge). As far as I remember it can be both with or without sound.

Yeah, OCAdam had a huge modular pack idea in progress, but gave up on it due to I'm assuming its gigantic size.

Which weapons specifically?

The only weapon in your pack that I had experienced the bug with was the GRSXX (the laser attack). But I don't include it in matches anymore. The rest are RS weapons, the nova staff being a very annoying case.

Yes, and I still am. However, It's been some major time since I last did any real modeling, so I'm working on my slightly older HK417 model to gain back my skill I lost during the summer. I did start on a few new RASs, but I had a scale for the Picatinny Rails that I seemed to have forgotten (so now I'm reverse engineering my own PR on the HK417 model to figure what my scale had been back in the day). Expect some new shots from within Maya in a few days (might be a bit longer since I want to really show a bunch of content so you guys can get a good idea of where I stand ATM).

A new community weapon pack would be cool, a few H&K's, speargun maybe. A spear gun would actuall be awesome! Secondary could be reel the person in! Or a gravity gun. Anyone know of any puzzle mods? Something like this HL2 mod but for unreal 2K4
