Is there or will there be any World War 2 or Cold War weapons in Ballistic such as AK 47, PPSH, STG, PTRS or M1A1 rifle?

Yep, we have an AK47 and an MP40 both in the works. :)

Oh I have a question, Ive made some good map's but I have no Idea of how to upload a picture or a description to it, I know its probably something basic but I simply dont know how. Can some point in the right direction?

Open the map in U2k4 and use either PrtSc or if there is, a screen shot button. I haven't play UT in awhile, so I dunno if there's a screen shot button built into the game...

And to use PrtSc, just press the PrtSc button and open Paint, then press Ctrl-V(at the same time). Or you could go to edit then paste.

As I said before, DirectorsFury, don't post one-after-another! Use the Image button.

Maybe this is a bit insane, and I don't know if it is possible, but a good idea for WW2 weapons on BW could be to convert Red Orchesta mod ones (As I said the last mod version, not the retail game, and of course asking them first, but I don't think they would have any problem on this) into BW, changing the arms if possible.

As I said, I don't know if this could be done, but maybe it would be faster than modelling from 0 the weapons.

What do you think?

Post subject:  Re: WW2 and 60's weapons?

Not a viable option. We want this mod to be made by the BW community, not some other mod team that we borrowed models from.

Besides, modeling a weapon is no problem at all. I could get several models done in one day. Its everythign else that causes problems (UV mapping, rigging, animating, exporting, etc).

Several models a day?

you must work like lightning.

Post subject:  Re: WW2 and 60's weapons?

He must :) Some of those Crucible weapons took about 50-70 hours. Of course, there were millions of polygons involved :P

Before optimisation of course haha

Post subject:  Re: WW2 and 60's weapons?

Yeah. The Hydra had over 30 million at one point :P In the end though, it had a paltry 29000.

Post subject:  Re: WW2 and 60's weapons?

My weapons are ultra low poly in comparison ^^

Hah, yeah, me too.

Of course, when I say Done, I mean in a state thats more or less ready for animating in blender. It could still use some optimizations, tweaks, and countless UV fixes :P but Blender is nice enough to make working on a model post animation a painless task.

But for the record, in one weekend I got 3 models made, animated and in UT2004. Course, to do that again would take an immense amount of inspiration on my part. Bit lacking in that area as of late.

Post subject:  Re: WW2 and 60's weapons?

I know its not a cold war weapon but I think the ACR would be a good addition to Ballistic, to balence it for the gameplay I think it should have very good accuracy but should do about 75% of the damage of the M50.

Just a suggestion. Im debating rather or not to make a bunch of maps for UT but don't know if it would be worth it or if I can even be bothered :sleeping-sleeping: .
