I have spent 20 minutes on BW 2.5 and I can say that it was definately worth the wait. The new weapons, maps and tweaks have made this mod even better! Here are my opinions on the new weapons: X4: A melee weapon for people that prefer to strike and kill in one or two hits. The only real drawback is that you can't block with it. MD24: A balanced pistol that has no major strengths or weaknesses in any category, a do-it-all sidearm XMk5: Has a good sized clip and an okay scope, it takes a bit of practice to learn how to use the dart launcher but it is deadly when you combine it with the bullet-spitting fire rate of this gun. Jackal Assault Rifle: A deadly weapon at medium to far range and has a sticky mine launcher that goes a good distance. The only drawback I see is the small clip. A great tactic is to shoot a mine so that it lands behind an enemy that is or is about to backpedal or retreat. Bort 45: Brings an interesting option to duel wielders, grenades and flares to weaken an enemy, then pepper them with bullets. Only drawback I see is reloading time and the delay between switching between flares and grenades. A500 Reptile: A first in any Unreal mod I've played, a Skrith shotgun. This weapon seems like a combination between the UT99 Flak Cannon and the UT2004 Bio-Rifle. The primary fire is lethal up close and the secondary covers a small amount of ground with acid, making it seem like a defensive weapon. There you have it, my opinion on the new weapons. Tell me what you think |

You can stick those mines to enemies, just so you know.... |

Yes, I figured that out last night after about an hour of posting this. |

I didn't know anything about it except that it is a "sticky mine", I thought it would be something funky like those goblin mines from Warcraft games. Actually, it's more like the injections those enemies from Quake 4 called Grunt wear on their shoulders and spine, albeit tiny. It sure is dangerous when you stick them on your enemy, worst dead ever. Like the Spider Mines from UT3, cracking it in your skull and then explode. |

ShadowBlade wrote: Glad you like Thanks, I also spent time with the older weapons and I really appreciate the speed change on iron-sighting. But I think I have found a glitch with the regular mines: Sometimes when a mine explodes, the mine model remains on the ground and is non-colidable. It also won't explode after the first time so it is stuck on the surface. |
