Just something i'd like, the spread is rediclous as it is now and gives no reason to use burst over a short time of full auto

use semi-auto then. But yes, the weapon fire modes need to be looked at, maybe the devs will look into it in 2.0

I don't like the clip size of the M50 too... 30 is too little for a close encounter.

Trust me, the M50 has a perfect clip size, any bigger, and it be too powerful.

....um...the m50 spread is great, much better than a real m16, m18, or c7...and firing on auto you would not get a grouping as good as the m50's

It's odd though, but I find that I can aim much easier with the M50 while NOT using iron sights.

I manually control the bursts, though, leaving it on full auto for certain situations. The spread ain't bad.

yeah, well in actual practice, the iron sights in BW are useless. They don't give you a bit of zoom (they do, but its like 2%, not very noticeable),it still shows the crosshair, so even if your using them you still rely on the cross hairs instead of the iron sights. And, they aren't really iron sights, because RS model is so they never line up straight always down-up (back of gun to the barrel).

If the iron sights are to become a very important feature in BW (which would be wonderful) the devs would unfortunately have to redo them all over again, even the M50.

True, and most of the gun models don't look too hot either in iron sights mode. Fortunately, they look and work (more than) fine in regular mode.

Btw, apparently some (wannabe) 'hardcore' gamers play with Hidden Weapons. That is ABOMINATION!! Surely Beelzebub shall harvest their souls and cast them into the deepest chasm of Hell.

Shrug. I don't like playing with hidden weapons. Takes a lot of fun out of the game. But in regular UT04 I'll sometimes do it when I'm playing just to win, it seems to up my response time a bit.

But agreed, it takes a heck of a lot of fun out of the game. I haven't used it in a year or so. Forgot the option even exists. . .

The hidden weapons option should be removed; everyone is equal and everyone gets to enjoy the 1st person weapon models.

its some command you put into UT2k4. I have no idea where it is though.

Settings > Player > Preferred Hand > Hidden

...ammo does go fast on auto, very fast and innaccuracy rises sharply

having fired many weapons on auto and burst i say that i am surprised that there arent more accidents on ranges because a majority of the people i have met on ranges are stupid, and it is really easy to lose control of your firearm when using full auto, first time i fired on full auto i had nearly a a 30 degree arc upwards and that was with only 10 or so rounds left in the mag


oh and in actual reply to changing the burst and auto accuracy of the m50...it is fine the way it is, you guys should be compensating for the rise in fire by aiming down a bit while firing, just like how its done in real life

Well, there aren't more accidents on rifle ranges because, honestly, there aren't that many full autos/ selctive fires brought to rifle ranges. Kind of expected when they run over $10,000 US, but we are kinda digressing here, aren't we?

duely noted...so i'll just say the jump caused by automatic and burst fire is something that the user needs to compensate for...otherwise we'd end up back at spammy skilless guns of original ut2004

The spread for the M50's primary burst fire is a little crazy, I agree with that. I always fire full auto in intervals and I get damn accurate hits that way.

I use full auto in burst of up to five at rang, more if there closer

Seems like its inaccuracy is rather realistic, and if you control your fire it isn't a problem. If you're doing a full spray on the other hand, shouldn't it be inaccurate with that kind of firepower?

Also you could just use the scroll thing to reduce recoil and chaos.

That too. Besides, sometimes recoil is fun when you're feeling crazed and berserk.

honestly, the M50 needs no tweaking IMO.. and like Rayne said, IRL u tend to fire in short bursts more than full auto.. i'll look over our M50 burst, and see how it is..

Hmm. Anyways, I think the m50 shouldn't have it's burst accuracy boosted even if it IS a little realistic. The thing is already a staple weapon, probably the most versatile thing in the entire arsenal at the moment.

Exactly. Its the main weapon that defined BW. So no changing.
