*Quake1 teleport in sound!* Sup'. We've got a crazy plan to change the way we make games. Check it out and make sure you speak your say! http://www.runestorm.com/blog/ This could really make a big difference to our release schedule. |

This has great potential, and can be applied (to a lesser degree) to many kinds of game genres if you do things right... So let the opinions flood, and we'll flesh out more specifics as needed!... |

Someone must have learned something from the great Notch! Sounds like a good plan, and if it doesn't work, that's just one game you uave to make the mistake on. And you can guage its success early on. |

I guess the main difference from MC, is that our first release will still be a working game. Mechanically the design will be fully functional |

Sounds like a good plan. Just make sure your episodes aren't released a la 'Valve Time'. |

The episodes would be more like the episodes in Doom 1, Quake or Left 4 Dead than the episodes of HL2. |

I would like to see this. But I would suggest giving preorder people a discount off the final planned price. This gives paranoid people a reason to play a *GASP* unfinished game, while reducing their risk if for some reason the game does not get as finished as you'd originally planned. Also, you guys should check out http://www.kickstarter.com/ Its not really related to your release model but it may help you guys out. |

Kickstarter + South Africa = No-mix... I think it's possible, but not without bank and account sorcery and suffering |

I think that it would be a great way to do things. You have people playing the game and giving info about bugs/difficulties which will help with the development. I say go for it! |
