Maybe just make it as a nickname. Like 'Bulldog' or 'Jackal' or 'Avenger' or 'Cobra' and so on.... BTW all of those nick names are used for B & W weapons.

'Pug' is good as a Nickname IMO.

I think its gonna be more emphasized once Version 9 is complete. Not sure if thats right or not but anyway Im not sure about the pack as a whole.

Progress is going well, and the Dragon's Tooth Sword is being re-rigged due to animation issues. Depending on how much free time we have, we may start finalizing everything.

Kelly, have you managed to pin down the weapon sway issue when it was turned off yet? I think yopu'd said it was some sort of bug. It's with the M10 pistol, and I believe the GRS1 does that too.

The AimSpread values check out so it's not a bug. Does the weapon generate sway when you're running around or only when firing?

Some weapons still have small amounts of chaos even when set to 0, not enough to make them unusable. I think this is just the way the firing pattern is set. The CYLO MK 2, for instance, doesn't fire in just a straight line. I don't think it was coded to, and that the cone of fire it has was intentional.

Firing the following weapons long enough resulted in enough weapon chaos to be a pain int he ass (if not render the weapon unusable) even when I have it set to 0. I don't know what is supposed to be that way and what is a bug, so I'll mention them all and you can tell me how stupid I am.

AH104 Pounder
MR-DR 88
SRS Mod 2 rifle (using secondary to aim it sways the aim after I stop moving it, firing moves the aim around by itself) primary fire without scoping is dead on perfect though.

BETA WEAPONS

The M10 Jackson Automag is completely unusable. Even at a dead stop, when I fire it, it does not hit where my crosshair is. The gun flies wildly out of control just looking around let alone when running. Iron sights do make the weapon hit where I am aiming, but the gun still moves itself all around. At least the bullets will actually hit stuff though. lol.

How does the Jackson Automag cause knockback to me, but a weapon like the M202 Flash doesn't? lol. Weird logistics at work here

With the M350 Explosive Machinegun (which inexplicably fires red lightning bolts on primary) if you overheat it with secondary and go flying around like an airplane, the weapon is useless after. I think it was meant to destroy itself, I'm not sure, cause I can't fire it or throw it.

Firing the M514 machine gun long enough causes chaos when set to 0. Really bad chaos when running and firing. I don't think the bullets end up in the same map. Weirdly enough, scoping with secondary reset the chaos, and then it didn't come back (only got it while scoped.)

The MB46 energy assault rifle starts off accurate, but develops a lot of chaos over time. However, the chaos never goes down. It's like a bug is keeping the chaos level from resetting, so when you've hit the maximum chaos threshold, the gun always stays at the maximum chaos. Throwing it and collecting it again resets the chaos level, but it builds up again.

Weird stuff going on there but I guess that's why they're beta weapons... so it's not like it's a surprise that beta stuff may not work correctly yet.

I was also wrong about the GRS1. It has a little chaos, but it's controllable. no big deal.

I think its cause its not truly 'zero'.

Its more like a .0000000000001 chaos I think.

Ill look more into this... it could be a coding thing. Gotta do research...

But Im sure the team has a better answer than mine anyway.

The problem lies in the fact that you are replying to everybody's posts, regardless of whether they're even asking you a question or not. In addition to that problem, by (incorrectly) answering mod questions directed towards me, you are not only spreading misinformation, but misdirecting the general public.

Seriously, CMGuy, I mean every time someone posts here, I get an email. When I get email, my phone goes off. And it's annoying when those alerts are for bullshit answers of "well maybe it's 0.000000000000000001 offset" instead of actual useful answers from the people I asked. I get it's a public forum and that means that really, there's nothing actually stopping you from replying... but really, you don't have to have something to say about everything, brother.

I have a question.... Is it a glitch to move faster while duel-wielding?

I think it depends on what you are wielding. If its two identical weapons, that is likely a glitch. Otherwise, I think the code either takes the average speed of the two guns or whichever is faster. Not certain though.

When do you experience this?

I myself haven't, I don't normally duel wield. But on the ABA server, duel wielding gives a noticeable(a little under twice as fast) speed boost. From what I saw, it doesn't matter which two weapons are being wielded.
I just figured it's a glitch... I think I'll go see if it happens in IA.

Also, I wanted to know if the Auto-Cannon has its camo problem fixed, the Auto-Cannon Doesn't get a fixed Camo unlike the other weapons that do when you pick it up.

This is exploitable, you can keep throwing it till you get a rare variant.

It looks like it happens when you duel wield an automatic-capable weapon. The speed is normal when using two semi-auto pistols or a semi-auto and a full-auto weapon.
The only other time there was no noticeable speed aside from semi-auto-only weapons was with two XK2's.

I agreed with Nemephosis, certain weapons have chaos when the configuration is in 0.0 on chaos and recoil settings.

I don't like play with "realistic features", so I always play with recoils, chaos, expansion crosshairs and other options to 0.0. And in the .ini file, all these settings figures in:

ViewAimScale=0.000000
ViewRecoilScale=0.000000
CrosshairScaleFactor=0.000000
AccuracyScale=0.000000
RecoilScale=0.000000

Being these settings are fine, some weapons of your pack has chaos. Like:

- AH104 Pounder has chaos only when I use the secondary fire (Laser dot).
- MR-DR 88 has always chaos.
- SRS Mod 2 rifle has chaos, but when I use ironsights and then deactivates, the rifle hasn't got chaos.
- SKAS Shotgun and SRAC have terrible chaos.

Also happens to me with one weapon of Ballistic Weapons v2.5 (but I can't remember which is...)

These chaos are when I walk and shoot.

Otherwise, these little bugs don't bother me.

Are you sure there's no 1 hiding out in there somewhere?

edit: Wait, you say the SKAS has chaos? I don't have it for that weapon... that's weird.

I'm kind of confused as to why you guys are having issues with the AH104. That gun literally has negative chaos when shot. It's the only gun in the entire mod with that unique property.

The MRDR is unique in that it has no chaos at all. AimSpread = ChaosAimSpread. It, however, is the most inaccurate pistol caliber weapon and will not shoot straight where its aimed.

Both the SKAS and SRAC have been fixed and should have normal recoil/chaos now.

I think the SRS M2's issues stem from the custom recoil values it gains from the scope. I may have used some += commands instead of *=. (*= should scale with your settings) I will definitely be looking into it more before I release.


The beta guns are all experimental, as you well know. The MB46's is interesting in that it is actually getting less accurate as you shoot more. That gun's chaos and recoil are close to 0. The accuracy will slowly reset to perfect, but it takes a very long time since I designed it more to satisfy my curiosity and didn't give it nice values.

Maybe the negative chaos is screwing things up, and the game doesn't know what to do with it, and is treating it like an overflow (as in it's ignoring the negative value and just using it as a positive number.)

I think you guys are mistaking Chaos for inaccuracy. There are three main values at play in deciding where BW's bullets go. Those would be:
- Aim Spread (Lower bound)
- Chaos Aim Spread (Upper bound)
- X Inaccuracy
- Y Inaccuracy

X and Y Inaccuracy is not dependent on your personal settings and cannot be changed. Some guns are always very inaccurate (MR-DR88) while others are exceptionally accurate (X83, lasers).

About the AH104...
Highly doubtful. I've checked out the algorithms myself and they're airtight. The BW devs did an excellent job coding this. I've also tested this gun out enough times to know that the chaos code is working fine.

The issue likely stems from this code:

(For the less code savvy, this means the AH104 gets more accurate when lasered in while aiming down the sights.)

This code automatically sets the values to concrete numbers independent of what they were previously set to. It is part of the AdjustControlProperties method called by all camo equipped guns. Because AdjustControlProperties resets all values to default before checking the conditional codes, it may be ignoring the user set accuracy scales as well.

If you're experiencing issues with the R98, SKAS, SRS-M2, and other camo guns that may be the case.
