Hey ho!!

here is our current flamer..

ok.. its not even nearly done, in fact it only has what it needs to appear in-game

but, tell us what u think

dammit, this has gotta be more powerful (graphics wise) than the Chaos UT flamer...... (= big ass mutha lag for me =/ )

Definately not as performance eating as the flame effects in Painkiller; they are powered by DX9, Shader Model 2.0, and not to mention 3D particle rendering.

Of course. Performance eating and visual quality don't always have to be a factor of each other.

in the xbox vr of Pain Killer there is no flamer =[ (rip off...)

glad u like em.. they dont seem to chew as much performance as u think.. basically, we just have to tweak them until they are right on our slower than James PC's

hmm.. this release wont be for a while

we still got to finish lots of content, like minigun, other weapons, more features and all the rest.. we're trying to work fast though.. but us only 2 devs, so yeah.. getting there

That thing looks better than any professional flamethrower or flame effects I've ever seen in a game.

Not all flamethrowers use backs, mostly the ones one fuel do.

Saw some farmer, who'se the neighbour of a friend of mine (who owns a big house with a small track of land @ the countryside) burn up a stash of deadwood with a flamethrower. There was no backpack and it was totally badass. Farmers all the way! !amazed

Btw, the flame of that baby there looks like it's a gas powered one. (I think it is because the lack of thick black smoke and the presence of a hot, blue muzzle flame)

How is a flamethrower supposed to pair with a magnum? Are you tlaking about dual weilding, or complimentary weapons?

Or are you just raving nonsense?

I think he means that the magnum and the flamer are a pair of great weapons.

I know, but I'm pretty sure this one was supposed to have a backback... better yet, an exploding backpack! !amazed

There's only one thing better than flaming people, and that's shooting a flamer in the backpack and watch him burn himself and his teammates.

Oh and if you shoot someone in the railgun backpack he and those standing near him could be electrocuted (the pack is supposed to contain a bunch of capacitors, afaik). There's also a nuclear component so you could have some fun with radiation too.
