I actually think there should be a Skrith explosive. Perhaps a crystal-based bomb that makes a small initial explosion, sending these crystal shards all over the place, sticking them in walls, people, etc... then each explodes again?

But the Heavy Alien gun is definately a good idea. I think it should be something new... powerful, but not beam-based, how about that? Perhaps an Ion Painter summoning an alien ICBM.

A cryon gun might be big and heavy, but I can't see a skrith wielding something too cumersome, noisy or whatever. Thats more terran or cryon style...

ICBM is a really really big redeemer. it will kill everybody in the level.

That reminds me on my first experience with the Redeemer. Was unpleasant too. Never underestimate a dangerous looking weapon!!! But such an ICBM is a overkill I guess.

guys, you're forgetting something - we're talking ALIEN ICBM's here! Maybe it doesn't explode like a nuke, maybe... maybe it's a gas container, and it poisons people in a very broad area, for example, taking their health at 5 hp\sec for ... 15 seconds? That would damage a lot of players on the level, but not necessearily kill them. Also, the ICBM itself was a joke, I meant something along the lines of an ICBM - such as some kind of orbital doomsday gun (Skrith Ion Cannon), or something like that. Maybe it would just call in like 6 smaller missiles, about 1\4 the power of a redeemer shot each, and scatter them over an area?

hey guys i was thinking about a heavy alien gun that shoots out highly ionized (highly charged) projectiles.
when colliding with sold objects it will discharge itself and when hitting the enemy it will really damage him.

Could be fun, but no chemical has the ability to be that highly ionized afaik, I smell a fictional chemical will exist in the BW world.

so... a ballistic gun working for the skrith? How would that be realized? Like... Is it a shoulder-supported mortar, or like a rocket launcher?

i imagine it to be like a rocket launcher type of weapon.
i think it will really fit the skrith, because it is not something that humans will use, and as bjossi said: humans don’t know of any chemical substance that can be so highly ionized and skrith can.

you know, my previous post and an experience from both BW and CuT just gave me an idea. What if you had a weapon, a shoulder-mounted mortar, like I said. It would have two firing modes. The first one launches the projectile with high power, so you can shoot it straight and it would hit something. The second one launches it at low, so you can do like an overhead fire thing, you know? point it up? then once it gets to some sort of height, or perhaps by the third weapon option, the airborne projectile explodes, raining ionized flak unto the unlucky ones below

Heavy Skrith Plasma cannon:

Firemodes:
1.-Shoots at a very low fire rate Big blobs of hot blue plasma at a ut's rocketlauncher speed.
does a small flashy blue burst on impact with small splash damage.

2. sucks the enemy at the guns barrel and blows him brutally apart with an energy charge (the irradiating charge needs ammo aswell)

or 2.alternative:
Sucks in like above but there will be a nice big blade on the front. (no ammo requiered)


So its a big, very fat, skrith styled gun of doom with a new nifty feature. suck em in!

i was thinking a bit different about the plasma cannon.

fire modes:
1 shoots out a plasma sphere that explodes on impact. low refire. medium speed projectile. high damage.

2 radiation burst. this shoots out a wave of high pressure, radioactive and ionized gas (NOT PLASMA). this causes a disturbance in the neurological system of the body causing temporary: blurry and brightened view, slow movement and unable to aim good. it will also cause an EMP effect on vehicles making them only useful for shelter. short-medium range. low refire. medium damage.

special: spits out liquid fusion fuel at extreme sub-zero temperature that can freeze the enemy to death. this liquid vaporizes slowly and when hit by a flame or spark it will turn into a fireball, and when hit by a plasma ball it will cause a plasma explosion.

A skirth energy chaingun would be awesome.

how about some sorta arm cannon thingy a three shot burst with the primary and a charged small range explosive shot with the secondary?

... and we're gonna have a huge backpack mounted nuklear plasma cannon that fires these huge blasts of plasma that hit things and cause a fusion reaction, then for secondary, an auto tracking that pulls them over and blows them a part with a plasma explosion! WICKID!!!

just kidding...

I think BW could use a bit more raw power.
