A225 "violator shotgun"
this is a idea for a skirth shotgun but has more of nostalgic look
heres the specs
ammo it clip:5
max ammo:30
this weapon uses a unique ammo to bw its compounds can be found on skrith planets or mineral rich UTC controled planets it is know as Talomazium crystals.
the shells look like crystal shards and are loaded into the gun like a normal shotgun.
the differance is when this weapon is fired instead of a pellet like effect the spread has glass like fragments that act like pellets that tear through armor like tissue paper
the gun lacks range and physical damage and is really ment to puncture and to take out heavly armored personal while the other weapons finsh the job.
this would make a nice complementary weapon for a sniper to get rid of annoying noobs hoarding all of the armor

I like that idea, what about making it use my newly invented Talomazium crystals?

100 max ammo and only 5 in the magazine sounds extremely unbalanced, better make max ammo 25 or 30 at most.

would be good as long as RS can accept Talomazium crystals on the skirth home planet or one of there conquoered worlds.

Talomazium is just a name, I think they'll be fine with it if there are crystals on the Skrith's home planet in the first place.

Wait... so this weapon completely destroys body-armor... so it also pierces through... no wonder it's called the "violator"...

How about for a secondary fire, the crystal is chemically charged so that instead to ripping through armor, it creates a boom that sends people flying, like a disruptor cannon? It's only drawback would be that it keeps body-armor intact.

What about the alt. fire makes the gun suck energy out of the crystals in the "magazine", and it uses that energy to supercharge a single crystal?

how about the crystals are discharged from the magazine for the alt fire and fire a large glassy spread doing more damage. but you have to wait to reload becuase the gun tends to over heat if charged

i dont really like the idea of Skrith weapons being the same as Terran weapons.. EG, UTC shotgun/Skrith Shotgun.. the Skrith think along very different lines

IMO, a crystal type of Skrith weapon should be OK, just made to work diffirently, and not be comparable to any Terran weapon

yeah i just started thinking that you were going to say that and you did. But it does make sense. The skirth and terran never came into contact before so why would they have the same basic weapon concepts? But i think a cyrstal gun would be cool, maybe for the Cyron (however its spelt).

Neat concept, but doing anything with this idea besides a shotgun really makes it smell too much like the j55.

oh God, i totally forgot abuot the J55 Shard Cannon! scrap this idea guys, shard cannon is way better. Wonder if the RS boys are going to make it?

They do share the same ammo type, but lots of BW weapons do, so I fail to see why that is suddenly a problem...

they're just way to similar in my opinion. the only difference is that the J55 has some guided cyrstals (i think) and is a full auto gun while this one is a shotgun like skirth crystal gun. Plus as SB said, its kinda stupid to have a gun on the skirth team that is like a terran gun, they should all be different to preform different roles.

SInce we know know that Skrith like to kill from stealth and with a sure hit, something like a razor disk needle hurler mixed with a nasty energy jolt would be very tasty.

hmm, sounds very tasty indeed. but it would have to look and behave as though it wasn't just a mix of the halo needler and UC2 ripjack.

Too true, but since the skrith go for that sure kill. The disk tosser would throw a swarm of disks to cause massive damage, so I was thinking something that chucks four or more disks at a time. Ouch!! Think of the disk popping out of the weapon on the compass points of the end of the weapon. The animations would look cool. With the disks extended you could also use the weapon as a meele slashing tool.

something like a tosser gun would be good for the skirth. maybe the disc is a mixture of energy (the stuff thats in the skirth rifle projectile) and metal.

we also had that Skrioth razor gun.. remember?

the ShardCannon would be a terran weapon.. still, i dont really like the idea of taking a terran design, and making it "skrithy"..

Simple; a gun that fires energy projectiles with random spread.

Maybe the Skrith have concussion guns? I'd imagine a race as advanced as they are would have them. And they are pretty deadly, pulverizing organs and whatnot...

No we need to stop thinking of human weapons that could be skirth, we need to think what the skirth would want, they have a totally differernt life sytle and way of war, they don't like rushing the enemy guns a blazings, as SB said, they love steath kills.

like the disruption gun from TS: Future Perfect.
and as a big TS fan I can say the disruption gun fired high velocity plasma, but it was cool nun the less. Right up there with the flare gun, man that was fun.

yes.. Skrith weapons wont be comparible to Terran weapons.. basically it involves figuring how Skrith technology would be used to work their weapons..

Yeah, the Dispersion Gun looked impressive, it's too bad it was just a POS attempt at a plasma shotgun. And the Flare Gun is too unreliable for my tastes, although it is fun to use (1-hit KO FTW!). I liked the Soviet Rifle, Injector, and Ghost Gun.

Back on topic: The Skrith seem to be fairly stealthy, which is why I suggested a concussion gun. The shot is invisible, highly lethal, and totally silent to those that aren't actually hit by it. And the low-frequency waves cause so much disruption to the victim's senses that they wouldn't be able to find the shooter, or would at least have impaired reflexes in a firefight. You could actually use ViewShake() to implement this effect, which would be impressive in action. And maybe the Skrith planet has an atmosphere that is better suited to shockwave propogation than Earth's, so they would be more likely to have such a device.

And by the way, concussion guns are not human weapons, at least not yet. Not even experimental, still in the theoretical stage. And "sound beams" are not the same, those cause nausea and fear, and are all-around nonlethal pieces of peacekeeping crap.
