well it is a console game, and i've never heard of anyone being able to make a mod for a console game.

Yeah, i still sorta don't like the 360, but thats cause i'm such a PC fanatic, once i get Xbox Live Gold, i think it will help, since before (like 4 years ago) i was only playing Strategy games on my PC, and never played online, then when my firend showed me the demo of BF1942, i got sucked into fps and multi player, after that i got HL2 and CSS, and that got me hooked on MP, so i'm betting the same thing might happen with Xbox Live Gold. Though when that happens, i'll most likely have a laptop beside me (downstairs) to check the internet at any time.

Yeah, the nice thing about PCs is that they can always get better at nearly any time...

Wish I had a high speed internet connection... I'm stuck playing Doom online, and even that lags. Although, I have to admit Doom is one of the best FPSs out there.

i have never played Doom before, nor wolfenstein or any of those old Id games.

I've played Wolfenstien, but Doom is much more fun to me.

Quake was the first shooter I ever played, on a 266 Mhz Pentium with 16 Mb memory and a 2 Mb onboard video. You can't possibly understand the immense nostalgia I feel when I play that game every now and then.

No clues, best bet is just to have lots of ram, harddrive space and a SLI- Nvidia series 7 or 8 GPU, oh and duo core CPU.

SLi or Crossfire is a waste of money. When you buy 2 video cards, you'd want the performance increase that you paid for, but that ain't a realistic possibility.

UE3 is an engine, not a game, so there are no specs that can really be given. Running the engine shouldn't require much power when there is no world to render...

I heared that GoW is actually slightly laggy and the fraps are a but dodgey online... AND thats only FOUR PER TEAM or something like that...

well i haven't experienced any lag offline, frames are steady. But my firends who have Xbox Live Gold with GoW say they don't get any real lag. When i get Live in January, i'll tell you if it lags or not.

There are at least 10 games that have already bought UE3 license, how is it obvious that you were talking about that particular one?

As for GoW, you could have been able to have at least 12 per team if they didn't put too much attention towards visual quality.

I'm sure GoW would run fine with 12 people in a map. Its only limited to 8 because thats how the devs wanted it, fast solid team combat, cause when you get past 6 people per team, usually cooperation craps out and some just don't help, only kill. They'd easily could have 12 maybe 16 guys in a map, wouldn't surpirse me at all if they come up with a map or two sometime that have the limit set to 12 for that certain map. Its all for the flow, and they found that 8 total players flows very well in there maps.

Nah, the reason was lag. It is not a question of what they want, but what the players want, and the players would want it to be configurable. They just couldn't do it because it'd create lag, and as you know that is unacceptable in consoles.
