All the virus would have to do is gain access into the blood by a bite. Then it would multiply by using B helper cells (like HIV and Aids). The blood flow goes to the brain and the virus gains access to the brain cells and alters the brain chemicals to result in death to the host. When dead the virus can multiply faster because it wouldn't have to deal with the immune system. The virus restarts the brain functions like hunger and mobility and then controls the host from the brain.

The first sentence is the only one that is possible to occur. The rest is rubbish.

Why? Science today can alter the brain chemicals. AIDS/HIV uses B helper cells so why couldn't any other similar virus? And one of the main bloodstreams goto the brain and it wouldn't be much of a hassle for a virus to get there.

That wasn't my main focus. How the hell is a virus going to magically wake up organs that haven't received oxygen for a long time? It takes the HIV virus up to many years to get active after infecting the body, your interesting virus idea would take many times longer time to do what you described.

Also, a virus can survive but can't do anything in a dead body. A bacterial virus could with some limitations, but it dies if the body is dead. So that kills both options.

To think that a zombie invasion will happen is thinking out of the box. So even if my idea is a little far fetched it still could happen with evolved viruses. Science is a growing field and some of the best intentions can result in the worst of disasters

The virus is given through a bite, such as venom from a snake bite. This virus is able to shut down the immune system by reaching the neural system, and then can control a section of the brain by that neural system and then destroys the immune system, when upon that happening, the virus then travels the nervous system to the brain, and takes complete functional control, and then you've got a zombie, controled by a virus that wants to spread around. The zombie could easily be smart or dumb, depending on the host body of course...

To kill such a virus is to simply kill the body, as the body is past recoverability as soon as the virus has destroyed the immune system. Cut off the virus from the nervous system before it can destroy that immune system, and the virus will die, but unfortunately... so will that part of the body cut off from the nervous system, which could be a lot.

But wouldn't the virus have to fight through the Immune system before shutting it down? Or does my happen so fast the bodies cells have no way of getting enough anti-bodies to fight it off?

This also brings up good questions, Is it capable of taking control of animals?
It is airborne and can it contaminate water?

You would need a virus with artificial intelligence to do this sort of process. A virus' only reasoning for life is to find a host so it can mass produce itself, you would catch a cold or something like that, not become a mutated human. It just isn't gonna happen by natural causes, sorry to dissapoint, but that is the truth.

If I had to go with a viral theory, it'd be that the person never really dies, but instead the virus simply damages/destroys parts of the brain that use more advanced thinking and leave pretty much just the core essentials; walking, and eating. Oh yeah, and organ control, too.

To explain the whole ragged and decayed look, they simply wouldn't have functioning pain receptors and more than likely have parts rotting off due to lack of cleaning/treating wounds.

Although I wouldn't expect the life expectancy to last very long for them, they can spread the disease easily enough by an exchange of fluids.

And maybe not a virus, but a parasite like the one that infect the brains of a certain species of ants, so they climb the grass, only to be eaten by cows. The parasite reproduces within the cow, exits through the rear exit and infects ants that come in contact with it.

Personally, if the Canadian military is too busy with Afganistan and the overall killing of zombies, i think I'll go out and find a lot of swords and shotguns, then run around Dead Rising style, hacking and slashing zombies to there death.

It would need to for a bit, but it would be too much, and is fast enough to not have the immune system get the anti-bodies. It CAN take over animal, but is not airborne, it is liquid normally and could possibly get to the water if the zombie died in water and the virus escaped to the water in time before it died, and could then infect the water and both take over fish and then reach other humans and they get infected indirectly.

Yeah, that would be a way to go, but keep in mind, many swords are made just for looks, and won't hold up under combat. You want to stick with a machete for the most part if you have to use melee.

Another thing, melee is not an ideal thing to switch to if you're trying to survive the invasion, melee would lead to you getting infected, unless you got some power armor that offers enviromental protection...

bjossi you keep trying to tell us that its impossible for zombies to walk this planet but what your not thinking if even IF they cant exist theres no harm in being prepared

zombies dont need other organs all they need is the brain unlike humans, We have to have all the stuff to power the brain take one thing out and bam dead human.

Zombies only need brain. thats why destroying the organs does nothing.

What i would do is fortify the area around my house after stockpileing ammunition for my guns, and stockpileing food and water. then get a radio and try to give info on the surrounding are as to whats goping on.

What about nanobots ?

A millitary experiment gone wrong . Microscopic bots that where used to experimentaly increasy speed and strenght of the test subject somehow got messed up and become zombie transforming bots .
Attaching themselfs to the neural pathways and conotroling the victims brain.
After that they use the chemicals inside the body to reproduce ( read build ) other bots that are transported through body fluids to the outer world to infect other people.

No idea how to destroy those nanobots though probably melt them with huge flame thingies

No, Katanas are all cheaply made (except for the $1000+ ones, but I still wouldn't want to use them). Just stick with the machete.

Besides, katanas are really rather ineffective weapons by themselves. The thing that made them so effective is the warriors' training with them. And since that takes years to achieve, your best bet is to not use one.
