I'd persoanlly just explode it somehow. Explosives always work on Zombies, and in Quake that was teh only way to kill them - bullets, nails and lightning only stunned them.

Ok, so THIS will be my last one. I just ahve to post this after reading all 5 pages about weapon modifications. I made a small deathmatch level, which is a cube that is 1024 uu wide. Then, I spectated a godlike botmatch using Worm arena plus with different BW. Watching the lightning gun wars was quite stasfying for the sadistic fool in me.

FP9C7 Claymore Explosive


An improved FP9. I added an "arming time" so that the bomb can't be dropped and detonated instantly like it currently can, preventing FP9 spam (really, use pineapples people. They take much more skill)



Note the color of the bomb's number. Grey means it's not yet armed. Yellow and teal colors I didn't mess with.

I also added a feature to have it blast shrapnel in the direction it's pointed at, hence the "Claymore" moniker. It sends out 45 deadly shards of shrapnel, each doing more damage than an M806 round. I'm decreasing its blast radius to compensate for this change.



Note that the spread pattern is a little wonky and completely random. It might have something to do with the blast radius altering their flightpath. I'll have to fix that



Tripping the laser now has much deadlier consequences.

D49 Revolver


A few changes here and there. I decreased its current damage a bit and increased the firing rate, sped up the reload, decreased movement chaos, and some other changes. The most important of the other changes is show here:



The altfire now fires two bullets, with two visible bullet holes, one an inch or so below the other at all ranges. This allows you to actually miss with one bullet and hit with the other, or hit two different sections of the body with one shot. Pretty cool eh?

RS8 10mm Pistol


I changed some of the values, removing most of the damage penalty when silenced, and made it so that the silencer decreases recoil and increases movement chaos. I think I'll do that with all silenced weapons actually (except maybe the Battle Rifle's damage. Decreasing damage when silenced actually makes sense for that gun). I also gave a definite pause between bursts in burst mode, so you can't just rapidly click and unload the gun in less than a second (and put most of those rounds in the ceiling). The only change I could actually show in a screenshot is this one:



The RS8 now has a 15-round magazine! Yaaaaay! \o/

A42 Skrith Sidearm


Here I increased the damage and movement speed of the projectiles, while increasing their ammo usage to 10. I also increased the recharge rate to about 2 units per .2 seconds and primary FireRate to .24 from .25. I think I'll change it so that it recharges faster after a couple seconds of not firing. Maybe do something with the secondary fire.

And since none of these changes are really visible in a screenshot, I bring you the only one that actually does:



I replaced the useless Single-Shot mode with a Spread-Shot, making it like a plasma shotgun. It should only fire about 3 shots at a time. For some reason it's shooting 4. I'll have to fix that.

The ammo usage per shot and recoil is tripled, of course, while the rate of fire is slashed by 3.

AM67 Assault Pistol

I'm a little iffy on this one. I decreased it's firing rate (for both the primary and altfire) so it fires a little slower than my modified M806 (My M806 has 0.21 seconds between shots, while my AM67 has 0.22. For reference, the official M806 is at 0.25, and the official AM67 at 0.2 ). I also severely messed with its chaos and recoil settings, making it harder to shoot (A .50 cal pistol should be hard as hell to use properly). I also slashed its damage to about a 3/4 its current values (new avg. damage for torso is 45. Old damage was 60).

I'm afraid I made it almost useless at single-shot, which I will have to fix. More effective now are its burst and full-auto modes. Both my M806 and AM67 have RS8-style burst modes, with faster firing rates and a pause between bursts (with slower firing rates and longer pauses correlating with larger bullets). Full-auto AM67 is useless at long-range of course, but deadly at MRT6 ranges.

Again, since none of those changes can be seen from a screenshot, here's a change that can.



I gave it the MRS138 Shotgun's flashlight as a Weapon Special.

The alt-fire blinding flashy thing temporarily disables the flashlight (you can say it overloads it or whatever), but it automatically comes back on when the device recharges as long as you didn't turn it off with WeaponSpecial.



Note that in 3rd person, the light appears to come from the weapon's barrels. This is because the 3rd person mesh doesn't appear to have a bone on the flashlight to attach the emitter to. I'll have to physically move it down some other way, which I believe is very possible.

I think it happened at the end of the game in the TAM (Team Arena Master) gametype. For some reason the hud and weapon are still displayed when you press F4 to go in first person.


EDIT: As for the weapons, I hope to release them for others' enjoyment when I quash all the bugs and fix the balance problems.

Yeah, cool modding K. But one thing, you said people should use the pineapple instead of the trip mine cause the pineapple takes more skill... unfortunately, most people (which i don't understand) will use any dirty trick in the book to get a frag (like in BF2142, the Recon class gets a DemoPax which they can toss (not very far) and explode, so people throw it into flag areas when its being capped or people will rush you drop a pax then detonate (if FF is off servers this runs rampant))

Oh well.

Here's my little contribution. Reminds me of a screenshot i saw of UT3 in which a skeleton was being sliced in half by a scorpion but it still had a bunch of organs and stuff in him, who would have thought that we would have it in BW!

That's the UT2003 UI. There's a mod that lets you use it.

The good thing about it is that it supports the Dual Wielding mutator.
