this is serious if anyone at runestorm is hearing this you should know that hedsteem is abadoning Ut2004 servers that also mean BW!
now this is serious this mean that you should also be in progress of working on a transfer to UT3 seriously hedsteem is your biggest supporter and truth be told what wup says is final so this a reminder to any of the RS team that you should be working on progress to a transfer to UT3 so i hate to say it but if Hedsteems Abadoning Ut04 and BW so will i

Most people do not play online, therefor most people do not play BW online. Rune Storm has said nothing about abandoning ut2004 yet, it is to soon. I myself play offline, Runestorm will transfer over when there is no point in working on BW2004......

They havnt even gotten the TC out(which im pretty sure they said something about for ut2004, i think...).
The only thing they could really do right now is work on new content and practice their skills that will contribute to the progress of BW3.

The devs will port BW to UE3 when they are ready....

Considering it's not even out yet, that's still a long way away...

The devs have their plan for the future, and they will stick to it. I suspect UT2k4 will be around for a long while still, it's not going to disapear overnight...

I'm sure hedsteem has their plans and reasons for going that route.
Hedsteem is a big supporter of BW, but not the only one and certainly not the biggest, BW has quite a lot of people playing it!

UT3 is not the future of the futures in RS's schedule, but yes, they will port BW some day.

i swear you guys are blind you cant make a mod thrive off of instant action, sure if you have a strong single player with replay value you can live off of that but still 2.1 i say wont be enough. how you going to live , off Kaboodles servers? heck no he cowers in his own shadow at the mere sight of most if not all the weapons and continualy whines about how unfair some of the weapons are, Kabs servers are i say a shame to the BW community, the bots can't serve as actual players they only serve a cannon fodder. If you wish to advance you must keep a steady multiplayer factor if you turn your back on the multiplayer communtiy you wind up screwing with your own mod and if you just focus on instant action you forget about multiplayer, then you forget about bugs then slowly the mod dies off because they forgot one key aspect to true mods like this multiplayer.

Well, i hope you know that until 1.75 (really) BW wasn't played online (bad bugs), and guess what Dark, the mod survived to release a 2.0 and maybe even a patch.

Just because you live off of mulitplayer doesn't mean that everyone else has to fallow, just because a main server of BW is going down doesn't mean the mod is dead. All it means is that some folks won't get to play online as much.

So if i'm going to go by what you said, I have no life whatsoever because i play BW in Instant Action, so does that mean X also doesn't have a life, does that mean ALL of us IA players are lifeless pieces of crap? No, it doesn't mean that. I play IA cause its fun and its my preference, some people like X can't even play online due to poor internet connections. Playing instant action or multiplayer; both parties have good gaming moments. You seem to ignore the fact that everyone's situation and interest is different. Your playing style is not universal.
And BW can easily survive with SP only, since thousands of people play that way, while only 250 - 500 play on Hedsteem daily. True, it would damage the community if Hedsteem went away, but the community would survive it.

I'm not allowed to tell you what RuneStorm are planning next, but I can safely say that there is no future in UT3 in comparison.

No, SP isn't the core, and neither is hedsteem. Both combined are. But like with dualcore processors, they can function with only one core.

You are way overreacting anyway. Even if hedsteem leaves BW behind when migrating to UT3, BW will come to UT3 eventually, just a matter of time. Since most of the regulars on these forums play offline as well as online, the time without hedsteem won't do significant damage to this particular community.

OCAdam, they'd have BW, but would be stuck with a BW version that is never updated. UT3 isn't that demanding anyway, you need a really bad PC to not be able to play it at all.

This isn't about a few peoples opinions, its about the best for the mod as a whole. Stopping production on the mod that isn't even complete yet(BW2004) is not the way to go just so a little work on some BW3 models, graphics, and maps can be made. Porting most of the code to UE3 shouldn't be that hard really(it is the same engine, just a different version), all of the work from BW2004 will contribute to the progress of BW3(so this "sp mod" will not be in fact "meaningless" The developers aren't stupid, I'm sure they have every thing planned out.

The world isnt coming to an end, chill out.
There are bigger things to worry about besides video games.

BW will be stronger as ever in UT3. I assume RS will update the models and skins to reflect the new graphical features as well as the engine's ability to render very sharp models & textures. Not to mention that UE3 will likely have an audio subsystem that isn't a piece of crap.

They havent lost us..I will continue to support Runestorm, and Steer Ut04 Players to that, Im perosonally just done with 04 as I have played it so many years and Im ready for a change as well as lot of players are...Dark, why not you run a server for ut04..You can run mine
