I would have had it done sooner but I got sick before I could have finished it, then I lost track of time... with work and school and all.

Ok I'm done, added some small details and tweaks. The clip is not attached and has no detail, its just kind of a space filler(just thought i would say that).

I know the mag is funky.... but i really do not wish to bother making it "good looking". As I said, its just there to make the weapon look more complete.

This is so awesome to see this actually happening! Curse me and my horribleness with Wings3D! I could make a saw (MG) but alas, i'm horrible and i really need to learn patience.

Still, this is quite awesome.

It took me lots of practice to make the AK47, I started like a year and some days ago. I started out with odd shaped pistols and Sub machine guns, but then as I learned new techniques and ways to model i got better over time.

(in Wings3d) You start with a cube, and extrude until you get the basic shape of your object. Then you sculpt it into what your thinking or what the picture of the object looks like. Scale certain areas, bevel certain parts(a smoothing feature), bridge certain things(click 2 faces with the same amount of vertices and connect the faces), and learn how to arrange faces(polygons) until the object looks like it should.

Wings3d is the easiest program to model objects with that i have found to this day, Blender(another 3d program) is a more complex program that has a lot more depth in modeling but its hard to learn at first. I recommend using the Wings3d user Manuel which teaches you the basics and how to making advanced models(including a human head that looks pretty real).

Practice 3D and if you have any questions you can ask me, well as long as it involves Wings3d.

Gotcha. Gotta keep working on it in my spare time (which doesn't seem to happen much).

So heres whats been happening lately......
Havn't heard any thing about the AK model, not sure if its working out or not. (no big deal)

I recently received a copy of photo shop, I can now create my own textures(making skins for 3d objects). All i have to do now is learn how, any tips or advice would be great.

I have been working on this for some time now.....
Proportions are a bit off, had to remake a few parts over and over, seeing what looks good and what doesn't......
So any ways, not finished yet. A lot of work is yet to be done.

I have found the time recently to do a little 3d work, I stopped working on the P90 because.... well spending to much time on making it just bored the hell out of me.

Heres the new AR I'm working on along with old models + new render.

The new AR is turning out well, so far its pretty low poly(non-triangulated, 383polygons) and will grow a little more as i keep adding detail to finish it. The scope is detachable, i will probably design a plain iron sight for the AR as well. The stock can be moved in and out, right now its low detail and i plan on working with it a little more.

So from the little taste i have shown you so far, what do you people think? i will post more pictures later as the AR grows in detail.

Well, i find that each model i start working on i usually never completely finish. Each model i work on actually becomes better than the last, weather its made using better 3d techniques, more realistic looking, more detail, proper use of tools, etc.

So.... I'm hoping the AR im working on will be the first weapon to meet completion and will move on to the next stage of production(skinning, animation, etc.). I have photo shop, all i have to do is find some tutorials on skinning and I'm half way there!

If any thing, i might be able to find a team to just do 3d modeling for and then pass the model on to the team texture artist, then animator, coder, etc. This is pretty much just a hobby that might grow into something else when i take the time to make it happen.

The MA5B is pretty much useless with out permission from Bungi to put into another game. I question weather i made the model proficiently in the first place(someone might get graphical errors trying to skin it or animate, etc). The pistol.... is just kind of old and i don't know if its worth trying to bring to the next stage(i could make a better, more creative one if i wanted to now). The AK.... i don't know what to do about that one.

So the new AR is the only thing on my mind to bring into completion at the moment. I am really enjoying the idea of attachments and realism, even though the AR is'nt really based off any weapon in particular and probably has its odd spots.

For the bottom picture,I can already tell you hes making a AK47/Halo Assault Rifle/and(mabye)a Halo Magnum.

Good model, but you need to add more details. A good skin can fix that easily.
