Woooooooo! We will always love the great ambitious work of BW! God I wish I had the skills to make weapons for this mod too!

I am very fastidious and those mod things and revolver does not interrest me, but that energy rifle... me wants it. We need more energy rifles and this yellow thing looks so pretty.

And to think you said the mod was dead.

I would have wanted a meanier looking energy rifle though.
And SB, you guys are gonna fix that ugly ring-effect for the laser, right?

Aren't there already ripper mods for UT2k4? I know I've seen some.

Judging from the announcement, I'm thinking we're going to see sgnl05's portable cannon and/or Multi-Missile thing in the next bonus pack. No idea what Redshift's design would be, though.

Also, will this bonus pack simply contain new weapons, or can we expect to see some other things in there? Bug fixes, etc.?

It's purely new weapons. But I do hope RS will be open to a new patch if nasty bugs are found with one or more of these guns.

btw, the ring effect will stay for the energy, i happen to like it

so... The gun that fires the solid beam. does that mean you can push people around with it?

Seeing a bunch of rings when firing a laser at an obstacle is a sign of lazyness, that is not cool in my book.

Bjossi, how is it lazy? That's what I'd like to know. However, I do have to admit that those rings make it look a little goofy, SB . I can live with it if it happens to be final, though.

Whoa wait! Those screenshots weren't there when I first saw the announcement!

Some things:

1. What?! What is this magical demon shit? I thought this was a sci-fi mod. I guess now I know where all of the religious-themed death messages came from...

2. That revolver has 2 different ammo-types! LeMat revolver archetype? I sure hope so! The yellow is a bit gaudy though. If it's supposed to be gold, it should be a bit darker and shinier. I would have preferred wood myself. Maybe walnut, or cherry.

3. Lack of Skrith makes me sad

lets just say that, when you play with the new weapon pack you'll forget about every thing you just mentioned

Take a look at the banner at the top of the page, the de-res effects, and the spawn effects. You may notice that they aren't exactly something one could explain as scifi.

It’s sad to say but without a download link BP4 is not setting a high standard, mayhap I got used to the “hear nothingâ€Â

This bothering me too, it may ruin some atmosphere of the mod.

BTW, is it me or in top of each screen you have some graphical glitches.

They are running the game with awfully low contrast and high brigtness, might be a cause for those glitches you claim you see.

But why does the magic stuff bother you? If you didn't play BW 1.1 beta, you have no clue what the atmosphere used to be. What matters is if the weapons are fun to use, and those magic weapons are addictive as hell.

I disagree with that partially. It doesn't really matter how cool the gun looks, although that's a good bonus, but as long as it looks reasonable and plays great, that's what I think is RuneStorm quality. I said I'm disagreeing partially because the gun in the last screenshot doesn't like it's BW-ready. Maybe I'm just hostile to over-glossy guns...

I wouldn't judge quality of the weapons from low quality screenshots.

I’m not a beta tester so I have no idea how it plays, I’m going by looks alone, however I disagree with you the model the texture and the sound have to be spot-on or there not worth the trouble of a download, image playing with a pink cube that sat on your screen calling its’ self an M50. There is just no joy in a gun if it looks like someone got lazy and did not model it.

The model, texture and sounds are not spot-on in any of the BW weapons. They are, however, extremely well done for a free mod. You are just being spoiled here. I appreciate the developers' work, and so should you.

But I do have to wonder if this pack has been rushed a bit too much. The developers did not even look at half of the suggestion threads in the beta forum, or at least intentionally avoided commenting. And some of the effects could be better, one example I mentioned above.
