Over a year is an exaggeration, right?

Just try different driver versions. You can probably go to the Epic forums' UT2 section and see what drivers work for other Geforce 8xxx users. I'm sure this has been heavily discussed there.

I wish it was. I got the 8800 just around Christmas of '06, and let out a "WTF!?" when I got it into my machine and found it running technically better, but in certain places much much worse than with my last card. To this day, it has not changed significantly, though the issue has been resolved for vista users.

I assure, this has indeed been heavily discussed amongst players of many UE2 games (apparently there are a bunch of guys with this setup who want to play Raven Shield). There is a big, long-standing thread in the Nvidia support forum, which Nvidia is quite silent in, about it.

Other users have found only two ways to work around the problem. One would be to turn off hardware lighting and transform (that is what the driver is having trouble with). This stops the weird hitching, but it reduces overall performance. The 8800 is great though, it can still handle most of it.

My problem is that when hardwareLT is disabled, it turns decals into ugly squares of solid color. The decal effects in BW are so awesome that I don't want to play if I have to turn that off. Another "solution" is to disable the first-person weapon, which I don't want to settle for.

A compromise I've found is to turn off dynamic lights, and play only DM-based gametypes on mostly Red Orchestra maps that I 'decommissioned.' This will "usually" clear up "most" of the hitching.

So I'm sorry if that sounded like some kind of rant, I guess my point in posting here was that I've got UT3 running perfectly, and awful performance in UT2K4, but I'm still looking forward to this bonus pack, and will play it despite all that.

I'm surprised nVidia haven't fixed this by now. UE2 is one of the most used game engines in history, just look at the long list on wikipedia.

I'm happy I went with a 7900 GTX instead of waiting for the 8000 series. . .

Might?? Heh. Just a single weapon should be more than enough to buy UT3 just about anywhere, and I sponsored 6! And all the packs combined could buy you a fairly decent rig or some really hot gfx cards. But maybe they need(ed) this money for other things; that's their business of course. Anyway, I'm quite willing to sponsor a copy of UT3 if so desired or required. Would be a shame to leave BW behind in 2K4, eh?



Well, they say the same -and worse- about PayPal (just google 'paypal sucks'). Fact is, I've been using e-gold since 2006, at least a dozen or so transactions, and never once had a problem. The e-gold system itself is fairly solid, it's the exchange services that can (sometimes) cause problems. I always use Euro Gold Sales, haven't effed me over so far...



Or anywhere else in Africa, for that matter... PayPal is staunchly dedicated to keeping the black man down, so while the heathen natives are allowed to send money (from a few select countries), they must never, EVER be allowed to receive it. Or something.

Beta testing and bug fixing is still ongoing. I'd guess a release before the end of January.

I mentioned this in the beta forum but I think it's worth saying again here: when this pack is released, BW will have 41 weapons and Redshift will have sponsored 10 of them, meaning he's responsible for almost a quarter of the BW arsenal. All bow to Redshift I guess

Hmm. Soon I'll be owning a chunk once my Panzer Corp guns get sponsored. Of course, maps will be covered in mini-explosions a bit more often, but the more, the better!

How's the range of that cool staff? I hope it's longer than others because every melee weapon I tried in 2k4 has no range at all.

Yup, it is...and due to the age group of the majority of our fans, it makes it difficult for people to donate...

As for EuroGold being unreliable, well, you'll hear that about any online currency exchange system. There are examples in any other system like that that would likely make you think its unreliable too.
