there is a bug in the bwbp4 release when ingame the bw normal gun selection nor the bw loadout menu will ever cycle the new weapons even though the system reconises and shows the weapons in the display menu in the bw configuration tab but when playing the game normally the bw systen never cycles the guns in to the match and when using bw loadout you can never select the weapons even though all weapons are selected to add in the bw loadout

Erm, try configuring the mutator. Go it the configurable stats, then click open. In the 'loadout' and 'swapping' screens put crosses next to the new guns relative to where you want them to appear.

When will the hotfix for loadout be here for the pack? Somewhat annoyed at all this...

that doesnt work if you read my post more carefully eat uraium you will see i stated the fact that clicking on the weapons in the config menu still doesnt allow themn to spawn in game

They spawn just fine for me. In loadout, I can use them under the melee or sidearms menu. Annoyed at this, but at least they are usable.

Sounds strange indeed. Configuring the loadout menu did it for me, after that it worked with all BW mutators. Sadly, there was nothing I could do to make the new weapons appear in the Ballistic gametypes, which is quite a shame, regarding how much fun Ballistic Conflict is.
A hotfix would be greatly appreciated.

My main concerns so far:

- No BWBP4-weapons in BW-Gametypes.

- The JL21 MRL has a really nasty reloading bug. After emptying a round of rockets, it is automatically reloaded upon clicking fire when empty, but when I try to fire afterwards, I just get the message "bReload" over and over. When using the reload-button, it seems to work, though...

Not bugs, but somewhat annoying:

- As already mentioned by a lot of other people as well: The J2329-HAMR's firing arc drops too fast. It's supposed to be an artillery cannon, not a mortar. When using the zoom, I can't even see where the simulated shot hits without looking down again, which kinda ruins the entire purpose of that aiming device. Regarding all the downsides that thing has (huge recoil with self-damage vs becoming a sitting duck), the cannon's usefulness doesn't compensate enough for that. Such huge disadvantages should be balanced by some great advantages, but there are none. It's incredibly hard to hit anything at all. Atm, I'd take the Minigun over the HAMR at any time, it just doesn't cut it for me, which is quite sad, because the general concept is great.
The way I see it, there are various ways to make it more useful:
a) Simply raise the arc.
b) A new aiming system for scope mode: Instead of looking where the shell initially flies and simulating shots, the scope doesn't look down the barrel, but becomes a separate, advanced targeting device: Everyone knows that people who work in construction nowadays use laser devices to measure exact distances. Such a device could be incorporated into the scope: When holding primary fire, a laser is aimed at a spot, determining the distance to it, and the angle of the barrel is adjusted accordingly. When releasing primary, the cannons shoots in the general direction of the targeted spot. That way the shell will still fly arced, but will always hit in the general area where the crosshair was aimed at.
c) A completely new way of using a mounted weapon: pressing the special function key ejects a remote control aiming device from the gun that is given to its operator. He can then go roam the battelefield freely, aiming the targeting device at any location and the cannon will fire at that spot, if it has a line of sight to it. That way the player itself doesn't become a sitting duck, but his weapon does, as it can still be destroyed or even picked up by an enemy.

Not BWBP4-related:

- There's still a small flaw I'd like to see fixed in general BW2.1 code (already mentioned it sometime ago): There's not much variety when it comes to the locations the teams spawn at in Ballistic Conflict. In DM-DC-Beach for example, both teams spawn at one of 2 different places on the beach, while no one spawns at the bunkers. This limits the size of the battlefield and prevents cool D-day-style gameplay, which the map seems to be made for. Random team-spawning works in TAM, though, so it is possible. The problem is that TAM sucks, imo. The camper-punishment is death to a game where you have to stand still to be able to aim properly and the fact that everyone gets all weapons is not to my liking either. So, I totally prefer BC over TAM, but the spawning system makes the matches repetitive and annoying quite fast, while a simple adjustment could create very dynamic matches that play different each round, depending on the location the team spawned at. Maybe players could spawn at pathnodes as well and not only at spawn points? That would offer a lot more possibilities. And some kind of random rotator is needed, that places the spawns at different locations each time, but always at a great distance to each other.

Also seems the Thor won't spawn for me.... I wanted to crush things with that monster so bad!

One small thing I found so far when using the HAMR's sights while in turret mode: The camera can turn farther than the gun itself can. I realize this happens with other turrets, but it's pretty annoying when using the sights.

Also, the LeMat's secondary fire doesn't reload the shotgun shell when empty. I don't know if that was intentional, but it seems like a good idea with the way the M50 works.

Again, I ask the question. How do you get the Thor to spawn, and what is it coded to spawn over? Everything works fine other than the afformentioned kinks & glitches, but the Thor does not appear. It was installed normally, y'know, extracting all the folders into the UT2004 folder, as is normal with most ZIP files and with all of the releases of this mod if I recall correctly...

I personally use the WoRM mutator to get the Thor in.

I could only get the tank to work with the AllVehicleArena mutator - I couldn't fine the line I was supposed to edit. I can't see the new weapons in the Loadout menu. Making a game arena and then making it pick the new weapons will make me get a d29 revolver instead of the new weapons. I did install it where it should be this time. I tried playing a non-BW game type, standard deathmatch, but there it wouldn't show up in the load out menu either. After playing a normal DM match with BW weapons, not a single one of the new guns showed up.

I can see the weapons in the 'weapon databse ' though.

It is far superior to worm,but it's not for the lazy.

Dutchjelle, for loadout, try clicking the checkbox to show all weapons. The new weapons should show up without enabling that check box, but maybe this will make them show up.

For arena, make sure you don't have the Random Weapon or Single Weapon boxes checked. If those are enabled that would explain why you only got the D49.

For getting the tank to show up, check the sticky that Tells how to get the Tank to show.

And neither is WoRM sometimes.

Ive got a small problem concerning the loadout. Those BP4 weapons were not in the loadout at first so I added them and it worked. But when I played that mod via LAN. The client wont have any of the booster back weapons. He can select them but then he has no weapons at all just a knife or the weapon he selected from the normal BW2.0, although there are also some weapons which only the host can take. So only the server gets them here. The weapons are also installed on the other PCs and work but only for the hosts side. And I fear that Im the only one who has that problem. Apart from that I really enjoy those high quality weapons!! Thanks Runestorm Team, and go on like that!!!!!

before playign the game at the game settings menu.. * the place where u set your bots and stuff* there is a button to add ballistic weapons in. I put the weapons in there and it works in loadout.. not sure about conflict.. I'm pretty sure it works in conflict too

Yeah, I figured that out just a 2 days ago. I was always looking at the mutator configuration menu, I just didn't notice the other button in the Ballistic Conflict gametype settings menu (probably because I had 'show advanced options' on and simply forgot to scroll down). Once I found it, I was able to add any weapon to the list I liked, even weapons from other weapon mods (shows even the weapons I coded myself, yay!).
So, everything's more or less fine on my end now. Some fixes to some weapons and mechanics are neccessary (excessive logspam), but nothing in there is so disturbing that it would ruin the gameplay in any major way. As long as I can go and have fun with BC, I can wait. Take your time with the fixes, RuneStorm. Better to get rid of every logspam-error and to adjust balance issues carefully instead of rushing things out too fast, like Epic did with UT3....

One thing bugs me a bit, though, mainly because I really have no idea what could've caused it: Ballistic Conflict always was a very smooth experience and still was after the installation of BP4, but ever since I added the BP4 weapons to the list, the loading time in between the rounds increased from almost nothing to something between two to four minutes! That's not only mysterious, but becomes annoying really quick, especially on small maps where the battles are now shorter than the loading times... What could've caused that?

yes i also added some weapons from other mods in the list. However.. some weapons my character holds the weapon backwards and upside down.. I wonder what caused it? :s
