Actually it wasn't directly inspired from Homeworld, although I do have 1 and 2.
It was inspired by the Bounty Hunters of Freelancer, they had thin and high ships flying around so I copied that. The rest was something I made up.
It could have been indirectly inspired by homeworld... Such things sometimes happen...

The symbol seen on the spacecraft (all of them if you look closely) is something I just randomly drew. It represents (in this drawing) the symbol of the Colony Province they are from. But maybe again it has been indirectly inspired, although I doubt this. Maybe it's style of how it looks like is from something you remember.

(To me) it looks like one of the vampire symbols off of Blade 2 (safe house symbol).

Why aliens are always the villains?
just because they're silly and green,have 3 eyes, eat humans, it is no reason to discriminate them...

Probing is the main reason they're evil...

There's only 1 mayor sized alien race which is evil in my story. And I got 5.
Actually 2 if you count in the paranoid Xygons...

The Rit'kir, evil bio-engineering aliens are the true evil guys. They are small mean creatures and only do things for their own survival.
They attempted to take over the while Milky Way galaxy by using millions of colonies.

The Tyarr are the good guys, they really want to keep peace. They destroyed all colonies from the Rit'kir and brought them to the brink of their extinction. But then they hit the Tyarr back hard and both were hurt so bad that they lost almost all their technology and had to start over again. For about 1 million years they didnt fly trough space anymore.

The Oryz are also good guys, they are actually descendend from the Rit'kir colonies and look a bit alike. But these aliens are very friendly, generous and peace-keeping. They're extremely fast and agile, so are their spaceships. On my Deviantart you can see a Oryz Freighter and a scout-class fighter. They also do Bio-engineering but with respect of all that lives.

The Borlyons are the neutral guys. They dont care about stuff happening to everyone, they just trade in immense trading vessels from alien space to alien space.
Mostly seen in Gamma Quadrant, they have no homeworld at all.

The Xygons are very switching, they are a very cautioness race and avoid any risk at if possible. They once settled down in the Milky Way Core but got rabble with the Rit'kir. They got scared, packed and leaved the milky way fearing that humans, Oryz, Borlyons, Tyarr and all other alien stuff would come down on them one day. They are originally from the Megallacon Clouds (2 smaller galaxies orbiting the Milky Way).


Story which is going to happen around present:

The Rit'kir start attacking everyone in milky way. They found the Xygon Jumpgate to the Clouds, and went trough. They got their butts kicked by the Xygons and ran back home. The Xygons then wanted to destroy the milky way galaxy because of the risk of all these aliens becoming too powerfull and fighting them. Humans, Oryz and Tyarr attempt to stop the Xygons from whiping out the whole Milky Way. But they are a too powerfull alien race... While everyone suffered lots of damage, loosing millions of planets from the attacks by the Xygons and Rit'kir, they really had to get the Xygons on their side.
So Xygons on their side, kicking Rit'kir butt all the way to the brink of extinction again and rebuilding the lost worlds.

Troughout the story, the humans have an excellent defence.
Warpgates. (Jumpgates are warpgates but Jumpgates launches a ship trough the Warpgate with great speeds.)
They appear to disrupt the Xygon warpdrives, making their attack very slow and required to destroy the Jumpgates before proceeding. And there are loads of jumpgates in human space.

Xenos Scum... all of them...
As I said they are all evil, just hide it well...

actually in my stories I have 4 evil races, 2-3 good, and the rest are all neutral(including humans)

once you see humans are really evil.
when they are kids they kill ants with home-made poisons(like me).

hmmm actually my poison is just water, alcohol, ketchup, and what is at the fridge.

Humans are actually aggresive as an invidual, compared to alien races. But together they are very peacefull.
If a bad person gets the controls, goodbye friendly reputation of the humans...

Lol, it stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program.

Um, Bulska, I'm not sure sure how to do it in Photoshop, but try looking for some Photoshop 'space scene Tutorials' I think I downloaded a script for The Gimp for those planets and added a planet texture to them.
