Well here is what i have been working on in maya, This is gonna be just a standard assault rifle nothin fancy, just like the normanl one, Single shot, full auto, rifle bash, and thats about it.

It should fire slower than the m50 because in real life an ak fires 600 rpm and the m4 fires 900 rpm. Making it as fast as the battle rifle should be fine.

remember its a new gun... And if i remember right the AK47 got better fire rate than the M50... The M50 was designed as rifle (it got Semi fire as defult fire mode) and the AK47 was designed as machine gun... I could be wrong because the AK47 is 61 years old and kinda out of date

The weap looks more like a P90... Maybe make a P90 AK47 mix gun?

I assuming by m50 you mean m4 right? Well if I remember correctly the m4a1 (variant of the m4) has two fire modes semi, which i think most soldiers use and full auto which fires really fast up to 900 rpm. The m4 has no three round burst mode

It's not the full model yet. It confused me too, until I realized the grip, stock, and magazine were missing.



The M50 has a fire rate of 600 rounds per minute. It's definitely closer to an M16 than an M4.

yeah i think im just gonna keep it around 550, 600 instead.

I hear other people at this forum saying that the m50 is similar to the m4. The m16 also has a fire/cyclic rate of 900 rpm in burst mode (there is not full auto in m16a2)

well the m50 is an m4 just longer.

Maybe if i get it done tonight i will post more pics of the model.

From the first pic, if you sliced the bottom of both an AK and P90, and only kept the top (and somehow untextured it), I'm pretty sure they'd look pretty similar. Only the front section of the guns would look different without any doubt. But towards the rear... I think more P90. That and the fact that we need less real life weaps and more weaps just being made from scratch. The energy weapons are great in design, but I still with they were bullet based guns...

No one is stopping you from making your own weapons.

If I were to make BW weapons in the future I would make a nice laser rifle. Green and blue beams.

Adam, you can make your own stuff no one is stoping you, this gun if for me and the people that want an ak-47 type rifle. Of course since im making it im leaving out all the things like grenade launchers, flashlights, shotguns, it may be awesome and cool IRL but i prefer only the rifle thank you very much.

Now we just need someone to animate it and texture it, I already got someone that is willing to code it... his name starts with an X

WHO SAID THE AK IS OUTDATED!!! The AK-47 and the m16 are both about the same age! The Ak-47 is a much more dependable weapon, powerful, built to last, more durable weapon than the m16 will ever hope to be.

Actually, the people who say you must pay massive money for a modeller course so you can learn to use a modeler up to extremely high skill without taking 5 years.

Who brought up the M16 again?

I got maya 5.0 ple for free, came with the game of the year edition of UT2k4. I kinda suck with this program, i have no clue what im doing half the time.

Well someone said the ak was outdated so i broguht up the m16 to compare the age.

Ah, GOTY UT2k4 edition. I had gotten the game when it came out at first, so no GOTY for me... I'm trying Blender, but I do better just trying to understand UC code.

Blender for me was a bugger, i gave up on it.

This bodes badly for me then... I took a year to fully understand UnrealEd, and even then I reference to the UnrealWiki for some parts, like teleporters...

Another reason i use maya is it came with tutorial videos. so that helped quite a bit. Like how to make a character, how to model guns and stuff.
