Simply changing the player's run speed would also affect the animation rate, so slowing the player down would make it look like he's running in slow motion. You ideally would switch the animation over to the walking animation, but that would require a rather ugly hack or perhaps a custom controller class.

but how would you do the ironsights mod?

What I want: To be able to use ironsights, which increases accuracy, and lowers your walking speed. Moving shouldn't cancel it.

Since I'm not a CS major or anything, I'm not a professional coder. So what you guys see is actually a ton of easy to do copy pastes (and a few annoying small code changes) along with changed default properties. I haven't messed with any of the code since BP1, so I haven't been able to incorporate the BW21BP4 guns just yet (or at least the bullet based weapons, which is what I've only been modding so far).

An ironsights mod where you can go in faster has been something that I had been trying to figure out when I was first coding this, but the one requested is just out of my league.... sorry about that skyfe and others. That kind of mod would need to have a new base BCore coding done, or something around there... that's 800+ files to sift through for one or two values to change and then a bunch of high-level coding hacks to get UT to just go into walk mode when you are in ironsights... maybe.

BallisticWeapon in the BCore package is all you need to look as far as faster sights is concerned. Just search for "SightingTime".

The weapons already have variables for their price and the price of their ammo. It's clear that the devs intended to create a buying system. It just didn't go anywhere.

The background and descriptions of the weapons and ammo do not accurately reflect their damage values. For instance, the AM67, firing .50 pistol rounds, do more damage than the M925, which fires .50 rifle rounds, whose whole cartridges are roughly the length of a dollar bill.

of course, it would be like changing/hacking the ammo pickup for the rs8 and saying that it is 14 round clips of 30mm rounds

Really, it wouldn't. The .50 bullet from the M925 would do so much more damage since it has a lot more speed behind the bullet, along with the more power from the bullet's shape.

You still got way more speed behind a rifle bullet than a pistol bullet, no matter what the type of pistol bullet. Anyways, an AP bullet seems to me to be one designed to cut through metal easily. I'd think that also means it can easily cut drag down from the wind, and fly much better through the air.

rifle bullets have a bigger casing, therefore stores more gunpowder propellent. More gunpowder=more power. Pistol bullets have a small casing=less gunpowder=less power.

The M925 fires the one on the far left, or something similar. Note the .22 LR cartridge on the far right.

The AWP from CS shoots the second from left, the M14/SRS900 fires the next one, then AK47, then M16/M50.

The AM67 fires the one on the far left (though I would think it would be a little bit shorter as it does less damage than the D49). The D49 shoots the next largest (.44 Mag, though perhaps longer). The .22 LR is the one on the far right.

I thought the AWP or AWM in CSS uses .338 Lapua Magnum? But of course there is always bullet variation for guns.

I actually don't know which specific round the game's AWM is chambered for. I know some guns are chambered for The .300 Winchester Magnum.

After some research the AWM in CSS uses .388 but in real life it can also use the .300 winchester magnum

This mod is now officially going no where soon. That is, unless someone produces a non-glitched versionof the MRocketLauncher.uc file. Until then, I am unable to add the MRL to the weapons.

I don't know why that happens. I've also seen it with the G5Bazooka, AM67Pistol, MRT6Shotgun, and staff weapon classes.

The classes open up just fine in Notepad. Just copy the code from there.

Well geez, you got the same exact UCs to screw up on you! I'll try that NotePad trick then.

WOTGreal and UDE are completely unnecessary for coding. All you need is Notepad and cmd. Of course, those programs do make it a lot easier once you get them running.

I've been using UDE for pretty much everything coding. I use it mainly so I can have an easy time going to combile what I want compiled. It's just when UCs screw up like the MRL, G5, and so on did.

UED exports code better than UDE.


I export my files from the unreal editor and then fix any errors in wordpad.

The G5 and MRL code shouldn't be too screwed up, though. I simply had to cut out some parts of the default properties.

No, the problems were from the .U being thrown back to a ton of .UCs. The main file for those 4 guns was the 1-letter-1-line glitch. Through Kab's 'trick', I got it back to normal. So... no decompilation errors now!
