Eh. Bush isn't really stupid (in the sense that he is not unintelligent). The cowboy "everyman" persona is just something he uses to win elections, and is a very effective persona at that. america may be well protected but it is tied to other countries like france and britain that arent through nato and the un so it would have to stick its head out to help.

There actually kinda is. It's not on his desk though. Some guy carries all the launch codes and stuff around in a briefcase near the president, in case he has to launch some nukes outside of the usual military base or something.

first, American would not launch a nuke first, we would wait untill someone else did so we can point fingers after the radioactive dust clears. Im not worried about WW3, im not worried about nations in far off places (though i do wish the people luck who are in the middle of hotspots and warzones) What im worried about is Civil war in America, It happened once and it will happen again. With the Economy goin down there is gonna be a group that decides to do something, breaks from the union, then another, and possibly a 3rd group. It wouldnt be north verse south, it would be like north south east and west... and maybe Idaho in there somewhere too.

I believe religion to be a shackle on further devolopments in the scientific community and in some other aspects as well. Such as cloning and stem cell research (proposal 2 passed In MI i think that was the cloning thing) Cloning has so many possibilities. Growing new organs instead of having to rely on transplants, study into new medicines that are too dangerous to test on humans ETC.

Regardless, If WW3 is fought with Nuclear weapons WW4 will be fought with rocks.

I personaly think the Nato Nations should go their seperate ways, initiate free trade with all nations with alliances to none. Thats how i think it should be.
