It's pretty fun
a tip for killing these bats: jump + melee. but you need to do it before they're above you, while they're coming.
but I made some changes in the .ini so I play only with these weak zombies and weapons deal more damage

btw can someone give me a tip on how to find the freeze gun in the canyon map?

Its a great mod. I have a few annoyances with it.

Ammo (even the first) is quite random in how it spawns and or i think it only spawns when your like down to nothing, which i don't like.

Enemies spawn WAAAY to close to you, like V 1.0 where humans had a ring where enemies could not spawn, this 2.0 needs it too, too many times those flying freaks randomly spawn behind me or just beside me and overwhelm.

Upgrades are also ultra random, like when are you supposed to get them, i only notice they show up after either killing a real powerful guy or just attaining some point level.

The ammo and upgrade spawns are meant to be random. For two reasons. Firstly it is a survival game. If you dont know when the ammo is going to arrive you have to be really careful with what you have got. Increasing the tension. It also adds slight replay value.

I think it is a similair story with the weapon upgrades. It makes it hard to plan a strategy that will work every time you play.

I agree with you to certain extent wiht the spawning. Though the flying bat things are a way to stop on camping on roofs. They dont actually spawn right next to you they spawn about 20 metres above ground level and then jsut fly to you. They rarely attack you unless you are on a roof.

Though theere should be a spawn distance for all the ground based zombies.

Actually, they aren't random, at least to an extent.

Upgrades drop when you fill up your XP bar; you fill up your XP bar by killing monsters; so when you kill a monster and your XP bar fills completely, an upgrade drops.

Ammo is slightly more random, but it too is pretty predictable. You get ammo pickups when you run low on ammo (it seems to take a general average of ALL your ammo to decide when you are low, so running out of ammo on one gun won't trigger a drop). You can cheat a bit by letting ammo drop, and not picking it up until another ammo pickup drops, then you get 2.

Inside one of the buildings. It didn't really make much sense to me when I found it, but its pretty easy to get once you figure it out.

I found this game fairly easy (in single player at least). I just stuck with melee and pretty much just kicked ass.

Definitely fun though. I could see this being a commercial game I'd buy at some point.

One thing I'm not crazy about is the characters though. In general they seem too... round or something...

They really feel cartoony to me, which is kind of a pretty high contrast to the beautifully realistic environment and weapons.

It would be nice if Snipers were a weapons you can spawn with. maybe begin with a old WW2 rifle, then earn better snipers until you get a .50 .
I'm not good at snipers(I rarely get headshots while playing online/LAN in BW, for example), but I like them anyways!

Online is a blast with The Haunted, its truly beats playing SP. SP for me is like spawn in find dynamite and just blow the winged creeps up til other guys spawn in. Odd how it auto went to to strongest guys... Real odd.
