I love the Bulldog, CYLO, Skrith Blaster.

Yay! I like approval! So which one is your favorite of those three?

I'm torn between the CYLO (since that thing was an idea in my head for like 5 or 6 years) and the Bulldog, which was a one night idea/model that I think is probably one of my more interesting designs.

Skrith blaster was just a quick model I made for a tutorial while trying to keep it in the Skrith style of things. I think the model coulda had more detail put into it, but... meh. Good enough.

The Bulldog is nice. I had the same idea a time ago.
The Cylo is the worst assault weapon (imo).
But the MKII ist pretty useful, although it lacks the shotgun mode.
The Skrith Blaster is very useful in Onslaught, because it heals nodes in lightning speed.

The Bulldog Is great for mid range fighting, it would be even better if it had optic sighting. CYLO's are great general purpose weapons, Skrith Blaster is a great spawn weapon to get back to the action fast, or to get up on top of high buildings, and dual wielded it almost unstoppable.
As to which is my fav it would be hard to say, it would depend on the map and the setuation but if I had to pick .......I like the bulldog alot, the Blaster is handy, but I use the CYLO more, so i'll say the CYLO.

I like the fact that the CYLO's arent very potent (read: balanced), I need weaker weapons to occupy the lower classes of my ballistic evolution tree. Change nothing

(But it would be cool of the Firestorm could fire shotgun shells. The CYLO is defined by having both two ordinances to fire. The Firestorm feels like part of it is missing.)

The v8 Weapon Pack is not working for me.
It's the only version I have of the mod on my files.

When i Open the weapons database, the weapons are there, but without textures or anything. Just their names.

V8 doesn't work on 2.5

I believe V8 is outdated, you need V9, but you need V2.5 first.
And you need to delete all other versions of bilistic weapons.

There again, your post is right. It's good for evolution loadout, because many Assault Rifles are very powerful and good on longrange.

I liked the low-damage CYLO-E before, where in order to use it to any great effect you HAD to charge someone until they exploded (which was pretty much instant death no matter what.) Now it does 15 damage per tick, meaning they usually die before the discharge, which stinks. No point using it now

That sounds like a good idea, but I don't want to make this another sniper type weapon. I think it would have a very low zoom capability, maybe something like those ACOG scopes with a fixed zoom. This would be very cool and I think it'd make the weapon a bit more useable. I'll need to figure out a mounting system and scope design to make it look proper with the gun though. This won't be implemented in V9 though, it'd be a V10 addition if any. I hope Sgt. Kelly likes this suggestion.



Yeah, the CYLO is pretty handy. I wouldn't say its quite underpowered though like others have suggested, it deals a hell of a lot of damage in close quarters. Though using it at range with semi-auto is a viable option for taking out bad guys; individual bullet damage is quite high, but the damage drops off over range fairly quickly.

Blagh. Evolution Loadout shouldn't be about starting out with weak weapons and unlocking stronger ones. You're just giving further advantage to someone who is already winning, and screwing over anyone who had a bad start. Games become less dynamic, and more about the early leaders with the best guns punishing the little guys with the pea shooters.

Ideally, the first available weapons should be the "standard" weapons (M806, M763, M50, etc.), with more specialized or exotic ones becoming more available as the game progresses.

Unless using it as something of an RPG like progression for SP games/Invasion.

But yeah, rewarding winning players with weapons so they can win more is a bit off. Its an interesting twist though.

But sometimes the small stuff works the best.
Large Cal pistols work great for CQC head shots.

Its a lot of fun for Invasion I think.

I use ballistic evolution for Invasion only. I don't use it for other gametypes. It sucks being stuck with peashooters when everyone else has a cannon.

That said, I put a lot of care, time and effort towards growing my evolution tree and ensuring it is fair, diverse and rewarding.

The CYLO series even have a special place in it. They are the guns that don't require any stats but pure score, so once your score reaches a certain point, it is yours to keep. Anyone who can't rake up good stats can always grab a CYLO.

By the way, what is your favorite monster set(s)? I like the Quake, Doom 3 and Dragons, but I can never take the time to figure out a good wave config.

Evolution Loadout doesn't work well with Invasion...
Many datas don't work with Invasion Monsters.

Okay so, how do I use these weapons with the Loadout mutators? I bet that's a dumb question, but there it is.

They should show up by default, have you deleted your BWCache.ini recently?

The CYLO-E has been changing wildly in each install, but I don't think it has done 15 damage since the first version. Last I checked it was set to do 1-2 damage per bullet, with a radius dmg of about 5.

hmm, I might have... let me try fishing the one in the archive out and see what happens.

edit: Oh, um, well, it's blank. I guess that explains it.

The archive I have is from 04-30-11. Has it been updated since? I'll try that one if someone's got a link.

edit 2: Also, I have a small request... think someone could make a mutator that simply eliminates dropped weapons when someone dies? I like Ballistic Loadout, but I'd like it limited to just the five weapons you get at the beginning. It gets wild and stupid when you can pick up weapons others drop. I'd like to limit it to just your chosen five.

I have the exact same thought. I'll look into it eventually if no one else knows how to do it, but I don't know if I can do something like this, my scripting skillz aren't terribly advanced.



Actually I think its only one data that doesn't work, though it might've been fixed in 2.5, either that or it isn't a problem in Unreal 1 in UT04, not sure.

I made them thinner recently, though beam life probably won't be changing much.

I'll start a new thread on Evolution tree discussion.

The monster sets I used include Wehtam, Satore and Aces Special. I seem to prefer battling the original Unreal monsters and the mods of them. I even configured some of the Wehtam monsters to behave more like some of the Unreal monsters that Satore left out. But don't have plans to include any more since the configuration file has gotten pretty complicated and I don't like changing it anymore.

Unlike my evolution tree...that thing is ALWAYS changing.



Only one: The Damage Rate. The rest are fine. I have not checked to see if 2.5 changed that.

I just leave all damagerate stats set to 0 but it would be nice to have one extra field of variation. I would also like to see more stats for melee kills, energy kills and accuracy...
