I'm familiar with all those things, and none of it is canon. I think.

The only stuff that counts for Star Trek is stuff in movies and eisodes, and the only stuff that counts for Star Wars are the movies, and maybe the books lucas wrote for episodes 7, 8, 9. But I'm not even sure if those exist.

Actually, Carsomyr, alot of stuff like the Reborn Emperor, Grand Admiral Thrawn and the Yuuzan Vong Invasion are Canon, but still, nothing in any of those can match the power of things in Star Trek.

1. The Borg. Not even the Yuuzan Vong or the Death Stars can match their numbers, firepower or technology. Additionaly, one of the species in Star Trek known as Species 8472 who use organic ships were whooping on even the Borg.

2. Star Trek has a huge advantage in technological level. If I recall ships in star wars will "make the jump to Light Speed" whereas Star Trek ships at say, Warp 9 move at over 8,000 times the speed of light. In Star Wars they use heavy Laser batteries for ship to ship. In Star Trek Lasers have been outdated for 200 years and wouldn't even come close to damaging a lowly cargo freighter's shields.

3. Stormtroopers would be eaten alive by Klingons.

Agreed, Bjossi. Star Wars has just turned into a money mine, and it's lost some of what made the first movies great in the recent three because of that. They have simply made Lightsaber combat too flashy. Additionaly, they don't fight like they should using a weapon that has all it's weight in the grip. Can anyone say "Unrealistic"?

Haven't seen much of either, don't really care to either... All I saw of StarTrek was pilloks in tights prancing around on some white spaceship... StarWars seemed a bit less theatre like...

I only saw StarWars Episode one and few episodes of Deep Space Nine of StarTrek, so I can't really take sides. They both were kind of lame.

StarTrek has always made me laugh for how stupid the races look, the only race that actually looks cool is the Borg. And it is kind of the same for what I saw in StarWars, they lack originality.

And DC, if you aren't ready to do the moderation job like me, then don't. I'd hate to ruin a great flamewar that you seem to want, but I will do if neccesary.

I was about to mention it, I didn't follow those shows too much, but the one show I saw from beginning to end was many times more entertaining than ST and SW combined.

Episode One sucked alot, even i'll admit that, episode 3,4,5 and 6 are good 4 is one of the best.

Not me either, it is just so silly. Even I am embarrased when I see clips from those on TV or on the internet, and I never even went to one.

yeah i have all the start wars movies on DVD EXCEPT episode 1, namely cause i'm too lasy to buy it and its just really bad.

But i highly suggest you watch all the other Star Wars movies, their good.

I just don't feel like spending money on them.
I'd love to give them a chance but they are just too expensive here like all movies and games.

yeah, why not just rent them? or does renting cost alot where you live?

When I saw this thread, I already thought up of what my post would look like. I think ST is kind of poor in terms of weaponry. I mean, phasers is all they use, save the occasional photon torpedo. Where are the, i don't know, mass drivers? particle projection cannons? nukes? lightning guns? I mean, use your imagination here...

Then again, i'm dumb and don't understand anything, so perhaps there IS a reason their weaponry is so lacking... if there is, feel free to explain it to me.

Also, I noticed that for some unknown reason most of the threads I post at get locked, and this thread looks very very volatile. So, just in case:

Huh, I got to the part where they mention SG. I must say I like those dudes more. It isn't as confusing as all that cosmos crap with Andromeda, nor is it as dumb as Mutant X (euughh...)

I have the same thought about the weapons like the races, they lack originality. Just throw in a purdy stick that fires a phaser, yargh!!
