We have an update to the Zombie today.

We realised there was a problem with the Zombie and the RS faction. This update will fix that. The problem caused other custom faction to misfunction. It comes in just the INI, or you can get the full update.

Just extract it to you "My Documents" folder.

RuneStorm is proud to announce the release of 3 brand new characters for UT3: The Crusader, the Skeleton Minion and the Zombie. You can see from these that we have learnt quite a lot since our first character (Hel) released a few months back. They have all been designed and developed to a high standard, spending many hundreds of hours on making them as good as possible.
They have all been entered into the MSUC and all include custom physics, 1st person arms, custom materials and each even has its own voice pack. The skeleton features over 30 unique parts, custom gibs and a lot of attention was paid to making it both anatomically sound and unique.
When designing the Zombie, we decided the ulitmate way to show the muscle structure would be to show the actual muscles beneath the skin so a great deal of work went into making him as anatomically accurate as possible in the limited timeframe. He also has more than 20 parts.

The character stories:

The Crusader:
These elite warriors are all experienced veterans whose foremost purpose is the slaughter of demons. They will venture into the depths of hell to uphold the light and battle the fiercest demons. No fight is too tough and crusader legions have been known to massacre almost limitless hordes of hell's minions in the most vicious of battles.

The Skeleton Minion:

Among the unthinkable number of undead minions under hell's command, the bizzarre animated dead skeleton is an iconic figure. Unlike most undead, they are quite agile and possessed of a wicked cunning. Their ability to use human equipment, even that with which they left there former lives, makes them very deadly. Skeleton minions are even capable of cooperative tactics and often work together as a coordinated squad.

The Zombie:

When it comes to persistence, few minions of hell compare to the legendary undead zombies. Though the variations are countless, they all possess a toughness that makes them one of the most prolific warriors of hell. They are often scarred and maimed horribly as a result of their death and resurrection.

It has been quite a journey. We have been able to hone our developer skills tremendously and learn a great deal of stuff working on something that is actually in public use. This is probably the best way to describe how our skills have improved. A look at what we were producing when BW was first released compared to what we are doing now:

A very big congradualtions to the RuneStorm developers, who have won places in two categories in phase 1 of the Make Something Unreal contest.

This is a very special win for the brothers, who run a very small and modest operation in a small out of the way town in South Africa. This just proves they have the talent and skills needed to develop top quality games. Their dream is to make a complete stand-alone commercial game, and this is another step on their way to achieving that dream.

RuneStorm is proud to launch a new website dedicated to the community for the modding of Ballistic Weapons.
The new website http://www.bwcommunity.com is to allow the modding community the freedom to mod and continue with Ballistic Weapons, based on the Unreal Tournament 2004 game.

BWCommunity is being run by some of the current RuneStorm community members, with backing from RuneStorm. The devs from RuneStorm will keep an eye on the site and provide some help, advice, tips and some tutorials along the way. The new site will also provide support for the current BW version.

This is being done, to ensure that Ballistic Weapons still lives on for those who wish to stick with UT2k4, and frees up the main site and devs for the current and future projects.

This will bring about some changes to the current RuneStorm forums over the next few weeks.
